DJI Osmo Mobile 6 Quick Start Guide

Step 1: Download and Install the DJI Mimo App

To begin, download and install the DJI Mimo app on your smartphone. You can scan the QR code or visit the following URL:

The app provides tutorials and control functions for your gimbal.

Step 2: Charge the Gimbal

Connect the DJI Osmo Mobile 6 to a power source using the included USB-C cable and a compatible power adapter. The gimbal will indicate when it is charging.

Step 3: Unfold the Gimbal

Unfold the gimbal by gently pulling the arm outwards and rotating it into the ready position. The gimbal is designed for quick deployment.

Step 4: Mount Your Smartphone

Adjust the smartphone clamp to accommodate your phone's width. Place your smartphone securely into the clamp. The gimbal may utilize a magnetic attachment system for quick and stable mounting.

Step 5: Connect via Bluetooth

Enable Bluetooth on your smartphone. Open the DJI Mimo app and follow the on-screen prompts to connect to the Osmo Mobile 6. A successful connection is typically confirmed with a checkmark icon (✔️).

Gimbal Controls and Operation

Power and Basic Movement

Power Button: Press and hold for approximately 1.5 seconds to turn the gimbal on or off (?).

Joystick: Use the joystick (?️) to control the pan and tilt movements of the gimbal for smooth camera adjustments.

Mode Switching

M Button: Press the M button (Ⓜ️) to switch between different shooting modes. The number of presses (x1, x2, x3) cycles through various gimbal modes, such as Follow Mode, Pitch Lock Mode, and FPV Mode, indicated by corresponding icons.

Zoom and Trigger Functions

Trigger Button: The trigger button (⏺️) on the front of the gimbal offers multiple functions:

  • Press once: Re-center the gimbal or start/stop subject tracking.
  • Press twice: Switch between portrait and landscape orientations.
  • Press thrice: Enter or exit standby mode (?).

Step 6: Extend the Rod

To increase reach and flexibility, extend the built-in extension rod by pulling it outwards (indicated by arrow 1) and secure it in place (indicated by lock icon 2).

Step 7: Attach the Tripod

Unscrew the cap at the bottom of the gimbal to reveal the integrated tripod. Deploy the tripod legs to stand the Osmo Mobile 6 upright on a flat surface.
