Belkin Secure KVM Terminal to RS-232 Tool Installation Guide

This guide covers the installation of the Belkin Secure KVM Terminal to RS-232 Tool, version 1.02.
Supported Software Versions
All SKVM units with the following firmware and software versions:

Hardware Requirements
- Belkin Secure KVM M series
- Windows-compatible PC (Windows 10/11 8GB RAM)

Software Requirements
- OS: Windows 10/11 8GB RAM
- Belkin SKVM M series Terminal to RS-232 Software version 1.02
Installation Instructions
- Download from Belkin Resource Center: Belkin Resource Center
- Install the application: Run 'Belkin_RS232Term_setup_1.02.exe'. Follow the installation wizard, choosing the installation location and creating a desktop shortcut.
- Launch the application: A window will appear. Click 'About' to verify the version.
- Connect the Administrator PC and SKVM:
- Connect the USB-A end of the USB-A to RJ12/RS-232 cable to the PC.
- Connect the RJ12/RS-232 end to the RCU port on the SKVM.
- Connect the AC power cable to the SKVM.
- Select COM port: In the Belkin Serial Terminal application, select an available COM port from the dropdown menu.
- Connect to SKVM: Click the 'Connect' button. The 'Connect' icon should change to 'Disconnect', and the status in the lower right corner should turn green, indicating 'Connected'.
- Login: Enter the Administrator username and password. The default credentials for the first-time login are Username:
admin1234
and Password:1234ABCDefg!@#
. It is recommended to change the password upon initial connection.
Important Note on Passwords: The main admin user account and password cannot be reset or deleted. If the password is lost, the SKVM/SKM will retain the last applied settings.
Troubleshooting Connection Errors
If an error message appears during login, follow these steps:
- Disconnect the USB-A to RJ11 cable from the PC.
- Power cycle the SKVM.
- Reconnect the USB-A to RJ11 cable to the PC.
- Launch the application again.
