System Overview Diagrams
Console Side Setup: This diagram illustrates the setup for the device connected to the console (display/projector). It shows a Receiver unit connected to a Display or Projector via a video cable. The Receiver also has connections for audio, USB keyboard/mouse, and IR (infrared) signals. The Receiver is connected to the Transmitter unit via a cable (Copper for up to 100m, Fiber for up to 10km).
Host Side Setup: This diagram shows the setup for the device connected to the host (computer/KVM). It depicts a Transmitter unit connected to a Computer or KVM via video, audio, and USB keyboard/mouse cables. The Transmitter also has an IR connection. The Transmitter is connected to the Receiver unit via a cable (Copper for up to 100m, Fiber for up to 10km).
Connection Steps
Step 1: Connect the Belkin Extender's Receiver and Transmitter Parts
The Receiver and Transmitter units can be located in separate rooms or buildings. Connect them using an appropriate cable:
- For models F1DN-KVM-EXTC6, F1DN-KVM-EXRC6, F1DN-KVM-EXTC6X, and F1DN-KVM-EXRC6X: Use a Copper Cable.
- For models F1DN-KVM-EXTFI and F1DN-KVM-EXRFI: Use an Optical Fiber Cable.
Step 2: Connect the Belkin Extender Transmitter to the KVM or PC
- Video Connection: Connect the KVM or PC to the Extender's Video IN port using an HDMI or DP video cable.
- PC Keyboard and Mouse Connection:
- For models F1DN-KVM-EXTC6, F1DN-KVM-EXTC6X, and F1DN-KVM-EXTFI: Connect the KVM or PC to the Extender using a USB A to USB B cable. Connect the USB A end to the KVM or PC and the USB B end to the Extender's KM port.
Step 3: Connect the KVM or Peripherals to the Belkin Extender Receiver
- Video Connection: Connect the monitor/projector cable to the Extender's Video OUT port.
- PC Keyboard and Mouse Connection:
- For KVM: Connect the KVM to the Extender using a USB A to USB B cable. Connect the USB A end to the Extender's Mouse or KB port and the USB B end to the KVM Host K/M port.
- For PC: Connect a USB Mouse and Keyboard to the Extender Receiver's corresponding Mouse and KB ports.
Step 4: Power ON the Extender
- Connect the power adapters to both the Extender Transmitter and Receiver units via their DC IN ports. Power on the units by plugging them into an AC wall outlet.
- Verify that the Power LED on the PC side (Transmitter) lights up continuously. If it does not, check all connections.
Step 5: Ensure Devices are Powered ON
Confirm that the connected PC on the Transmitter side and the Display or Projector on the Receiver side are powered ON.
