Before Use

Read and understand all Instructions for Use. Understand and accept the risks involved. Familiarize yourself with the headlamp's capabilities and usage restrictions. Not recommended for children under 3 years old. Children under 12 must use under responsible adult supervision. Failure to heed warnings may result in severe injury or death.

Lamp Operation

Use the button as indicated in the diagrams to select different lighting modes.

  • If the button is not pressed for more than 3 seconds, one click will turn off the lamp.
  • If the lamp is turned off in a color mode, it will re-light in the selected color (for models with colored lighting).
  • Reserve Lighting: The lamp blinks when it switches to reserve lighting (5 minutes prior and at the moment of switch). Reserve lighting provides enough light to walk by, but not for dynamic activities.
  • Locking: Lock the lamp when not in use to avoid accidental activation.
  • Energy Gauge: The energy gauge lights up when the lamp is turned on or off (except when turned off for models with colored lighting).
  • Color Models: For models with color lighting, the lamp can only be locked when it is off.

HYBRID System

The headlamp is compatible with AAA-LR03 (alkaline, lithium, Ni-MH rechargeable) batteries and the Petzl CORE rechargeable battery. Rechargeable (R) models include the CORE battery; other models come with standard batteries.

CORE Rechargeable Battery

Petzl Li-Ion rechargeable battery. Capacity: 1250 mAh. Charge fully before first use. Use only Petzl rechargeable batteries. Li-Ion batteries typically lose 10% capacity annually. After 300 charge/discharge cycles, they retain about 70% of initial capacity. Warning: The CORE battery may cause the light to turn off abruptly when nearly drained.

Charging the Battery

⚠️ WARNING: Charge only with a USB cable. Charger output voltage must not exceed 5V. Use only a Class II, CE/UL approved charger (double insulation). Do not leave the battery unattended while charging.

Charging Time: Approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes with a USB charger or computer. Connecting multiple USB devices may increase charging time (up to 24 hours).

Indicator: Lights steady red while charging, steady green when charging is complete.

Replacing the Rechargeable Battery

Use only Petzl rechargeable batteries. Using other types may damage the lamp.

Malfunction

Check battery condition and polarity. Inspect contacts for corrosion; gently scrape clean if corroded without deforming them. If the lamp still does not work, contact Petzl.

Safety Precautions

A. Battery Precautions

❗ DANGER: Risk of explosion and burns. Do not open, incinerate, short-circuit, or recharge non-rechargeable batteries. Observe polarity. Avoid contact with electrolyte leaks; seek medical attention. Dispose of batteries according to local regulations. Do not mix brands or new/used batteries. Remove batteries for long-term storage. Keep out of reach of children.

B. Rechargeable Battery Precautions

❗ DANGER: Risk of explosion and burns. Incorrect use can damage the rechargeable battery. Do not submerge, incinerate, or expose to high temperatures. Do not destroy the battery. If damaged, do not dismantle; dispose according to local regulations. Avoid electrolyte contact; seek medical attention. Remove for long-term storage.

C. Lamp Precautions

WARNING: Headband may pose a strangulation risk. Small parts (e.g., batteries) pose a choking risk.

Eye Safety

The lamp is classified in risk group 2 (moderate risk) according to IEC 62471. Do not stare directly at the lit lamp. Optical radiation can be dangerous. Avoid aiming the beam into eyes. Beware of blinding others. Risk of retinal damage from blue light, especially in children.

Electromagnetic Compatibility

Complies with EMC regulations. Warning: This does not guarantee that interference will not occur. If interference is noticed, turn off the lamp or move it away from sensitive electronic devices.

Stroboscopic Effect

Warning: Use near rotating machinery with caution. Lamp frequency matching machine rotation can obscure movement.

ErP Directive

Complies with ErP Directive 2009/125/EC. Features instant full brightness, 6000-7000 K color temperature, and a minimum of 13,000 switching cycles before premature failure. Beam angles: ARIA 1 models: 23°. ARIA 2 models: mixed 17° / wide 30°.

Maintenance

D. Cleaning, Drying

If in contact with seawater, rinse with fresh water and dry.

E. Storage, Transport

For long-term storage, charge the battery (every six months) and remove it from the lamp. Avoid complete discharge. Store dry, ideally between 20-25°C. Battery will discharge after 12 months if unused. Disconnect the battery for transport to prevent accidental activation.

F. Protecting the Environment

Dispose of the lamp according to current local regulations.

G. Modifications/Repairs

Prohibited outside Petzl facilities, except for replacement parts.
