Fitting Instructions
- Remove the rear bumper. Two fixing behind the side trim panels (Saloon only) five clips around each wheel arch, and clips along the bottom edge.
- Temporarily disconnect reversing sensors.
- Remove bumper inner beam/arms. (These are not refitted.)
- Cut a section from the lower undertray. Refer to sketch for details.
- Using Item E with Item G bolt Item A to the existing captive nuts on the rear panel.
- Using Item D with Item F and Item C with Item F bolt Item B and Item H to Item A.
- Fully tighten all bolts and ensure the towbar is rigid and secure.
- Refit bumper and reversing sensors.
Diagram Descriptions
Undertray Cut Details
This section illustrates the required modifications to the vehicle's undertray. A specific area, indicated as "REMOVE HATCHED AREA", needs to be cut out to accommodate the towbar assembly. The diagram shows the shape and location of this cut-out relative to the towbar model TBM909VK.
Towbar Assembly Diagram
This diagram provides an exploded view of the towbar components and their assembly. It shows the main crossmember (Item A) and the detachable housing (Item B). Various bolts and washers (Items C, D, E, F, G) are depicted connecting these parts and attaching them to the vehicle's chassis. The flip-up socket plate (Item H) is also shown in its position. The diagram indicates the specific items and their quantities used in the assembly process, with labels corresponding to the parts list.
Notes
- Recommended Torque Setting for M12 Grade 10.9 is 130 Nm. (For other Torque Settings, please refer to notes on the overleaf page.)
- Nose load limits and vehicle manufacturers' trailer/caravan weight limits must be observed.
