Operation
Removing the Frying Basket
The basket can be lifted/lowered with the lid open. Lift the basket handle until it clicks into a horizontal position. To remove the basket, open the lid to its maximum. Before removing the basket when frying, allow excess oil to drain from the food into the frying pot. To lower the basket, slide the handle into the groove of the appliance body and then fold the handle by pressing the basket handle release, the basket holder.
Opening the Lid
Pressing the lid opening button releases the lid's locking mechanism, and the lid lifts slightly. If the lid tends to open completely, hold it with your hand. This allows hot steam to escape through the slot, making subsequent lid opening safer and preventing scalding or burns. After steam has escaped, lift the lid and open it. To remove it completely, tilt it to a vertical position and pull it upwards.
Ventilation System
A ventilation grille is installed in the deep fryer lid.
Filling the Deep Fryer
- Fill the deep fryer with oil. We recommend using a suitable frying oil of appropriate quality, or high-quality solid vegetable fat. Never mix oil with fat. Fill the container so that the oil level is between the MIN. and MAX. marks.
- Place the basket in the deep fryer and immerse it in the oil. Press the button on the handle and push the handle down.
- Close the lid (press the lid on both sides until it clicks). This prevents steam from escaping the deep fryer.
- Connect the deep fryer to the electrical network and switch it on.
- Set the desired temperature using the temperature setting knob. Refer to the overview further in the manual.
Frying
Preheating
Before frying, the oil needs to be preheated to the required temperature. The heating indicator light will be on. It will turn off when the set temperature is reached. The indicator light may alternately turn on and off as the temperature changes.
Frying
There are two frying methods: frying general food items and frying coated food items (e.g., breaded).
Frying General Food Items
- Once the set temperature is reached, open the lid, lift the basket, and secure it in the raised position. Place maximally dried food items in the basket. The basket should always be raised when placing food.
- Immerse the basket in oil and close the lid.
- Monitor the frying process through the viewing window by occasionally lifting the basket.
- After frying is complete, press the lid opening button, hold it slightly open to allow steam to escape. After a moment, lift the lid upwards with your hands; be careful when opening, as there may still be slight steam pressure in the container.
Frying Coated Food Items
This method may cause food to stick to the basket, so fry very carefully.
- Once the set temperature is reached, leave the basket immersed and open the lid.
- Coat the raw food items in breadcrumbs and lightly remove excess breadcrumbs. Gently immerse the food items in the oil using a suitable utensil; this will slightly firm the breading before it contacts the basket mesh, preventing it from sticking to the basket.
- Close the lid and fry.
