1.3 Electrical Safety

Before connecting the electrical appliance to the power supply, check that the mains voltage indicated on the appliance's label corresponds to the voltage of your household socket.

The electrical appliance is intended for power supply from the mains 1/N/PE ~ 230 V, 50 Hz.

The electrical safety of the appliance is guaranteed only if it is correctly connected to the mains.

Class I electrical devices are equipped with protection against electric shock by means of protective earthing of non-live parts that may become dangerously live in case of a device fault. Always connect such devices only to properly installed mains sockets that are equipped with protective earthing and have the protective earth conductor correctly connected. These are all electrical devices equipped with a three-wire power supply cord.

Class II electrical devices are equipped with protection against electric shock by double insulation or reinforced insulation of hazardous live electrical parts. A Class II device must not be equipped with means for connecting protective earthing. These are all electrical devices equipped with a two-wire power supply cord.

Class III electrical devices are devices powered by a source of low safe voltage (battery or accumulator) and do not pose any danger to the user from electric shock.

For increased safety against electric shock when using electrical appliances by laypersons, it is recommended to install a residual current device (RCD) with a rated tripping current not exceeding 30 mA in the electrical supply circuit for sockets with a rated current not exceeding 20 A.

Consult a qualified electrician regarding the safety and correctness of the electrical installation.

Use only the power cord with the plug (mains cord) supplied with the device and compatible with the mains socket. Using another cable may lead to fire or electric shock.

Always connect the electrical appliance to an easily accessible mains socket. In case of operational failure, the appliance must be switched off and disconnected from the mains supply as quickly as possible.

The power cord and mains plug must always remain easily accessible for safe disconnection of the electrical appliance from the mains supply.

Do not disconnect the power cord/mains cord by pulling the cord. Disconnect by pulling the plug of the power cord/mains cord.

If you use an extension cord, check that the total rated power of all devices connected to the extension cord does not exceed the maximum current load of the extension cord.

If you must use an extension cord or power strip, ensure that the extension cord or power strip is connected to the mains socket, not to another extension cord or power strip. The extension cord or power strip must be designed for earthed electrical plugs and plugged into a properly earthed mains socket.

The plug of the appliance's power cord must be compatible with the mains socket. Never use adapters or modify the socket in any way. Do not use unsuitable or damaged sockets!

To prevent electric shock, plug the device's power cords into properly earthed mains sockets. If the device is equipped with a 3-pin power cord, do not use adapters that lack an earthing element, nor remove the earthing element from the plug or adapter.

Do not bend, crush, or otherwise subject the power cord/mains cord of the appliance to mechanical stress or external heat sources. Damage to the power cord can lead to electric shock.

If the power cord is damaged, disconnect the appliance from the mains and do not use it further.

If the power cord/mains cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or a similarly qualified person to prevent the risk of electric shock.

Regularly check and keep the electrical appliance, power cord, and mains socket clean. Regularly unplug and clean the power cord plug as needed. Contamination with dust or other substances can cause disruption of the insulation state and subsequent fire.

Do not expose the electrical appliance to water or humid environments. Water ingress into the appliance increases the risk of electric shock. If the power cord is wet or water has entered the appliance, disconnect it from the mains immediately. If the appliance is connected to a mains socket and it is possible, switch off the power at the circuit breaker before attempting to disconnect the power. Be extremely careful when pulling wet cables from a live power source.

If protective covers are removed during the installation (connection) of the electrical device, its electrical parts must not be accessible to the user after the installation is completed.
