Caliber RMD901DAB-CP Software Update Guide

This document provides instructions for updating the Caliber RMD901DAB-CP to resolve issues with CarPlay connection under iOS 18.2.1.

Preparing the USB Drive

Follow these steps to prepare your USB drive for the software update:

1. Select the USB drive in your PC's file explorer.
2. Choose 'Format' from the list and confirm.
3. Ensure the File System is set to 'FAT32'.
4. Optionally, enter a 'Volume name' (not required).
5. Select 'Quick Format'.
6. Click 'Start' to begin the formatting process.
7. A warning message will appear stating that the USB drive will be erased. Confirm by clicking 'OK'.
8. Once formatting is complete, a confirmation message will appear. Click 'OK' again.

The USB drive is now ready to receive the update file.

Downloading and Copying the Update File

1. Download the update file from the provided link: www.wetransfer.com.
2. Locate the downloaded file, right-click on it, and select 'Copy'.
3. Navigate to your USB drive in the file explorer.
4. Right-click on the USB drive and select 'Paste' to copy the file.

Alternative Method: Select the saved update file on your PC, then drag and drop it onto the USB drive in the file explorer while holding the right-click button. When prompted, choose 'Copy here'.

Important: Do not change the name of the update file (ISPBOOOT.BIN).

After copying, safely eject the USB drive from your PC by right-clicking on it in the file explorer and selecting 'Eject'. This ensures the USB drive can be safely removed to perform the software update on the radio.

Installing the Update

1. On the Caliber RMD901DAB-CP, select 'Radio' as the source.
2. Connect the prepared USB drive to the USB port on the radio.
3. The update will begin automatically after a few seconds. A notification may appear, which can be confirmed with 'OK', or it will start automatically.
4. During the update process, a screen displaying 'Updating...' will be shown, along with version information.
5. Once the update is complete, a success message like "Burn success, welcome!" will appear, and the radio will reboot.
6. The USB drive can now be safely removed.

You can verify the installed version in the Setup menu: Setup > System Settings > About.

Note

Before using CarPlay, it is necessary to remove and reset the Bluetooth connection with your phone. The radio's update name for Bluetooth has been changed from RMD901DAB to RMD901DAB-xxxx, where 'xxxxxx' represents the unique ID of the radio.
