Sentry LX Specifications

Features

Setting up the Sentry LX

Before installing, insert the provided battery into the back of the Sentry LX to store data and settings.

Installing the Sentry LX

The Sentry LX requires dual 5.25" bays. Slide the unit into the front of your chassis and secure it using screwless mechanisms or screws. Connect the 4-pin power connection before booting up your system.

Setting up the Fans and Probes

The Sentry LX supports up to 5 fans with 3-pin connections and comes with 5 temperature probes.

  1. Ensure your system is off before making connections.
  2. Connect the 3-pin connections from the Sentry LX to your chassis fans.
  3. Note that the stickers on the 3-pin connections correspond to the numbers on the meter display.

It is recommended to tape temperature probes near their corresponding fans (e.g., Fan 1 near Temp 1 probe) for optimal Auto mode performance.

Auto/Manual Fan Speed Settings

Press the "MODE" button to switch between Auto and Manual modes.

To adjust fan speeds in Manual Mode:

  1. Press the "Fan Select" button to cycle through fan connections on the meter display.
  2. Use the "Up and Down Arrows" to adjust fan speed. This action sets the meter to Manual mode. The adjustable fan speed range is automatically detected. Setting a fan to 0 RPM turns it off. Allow up to 1 minute for fans to adjust to the new RPM due to data transfer.
  3. The Sentry LX exits "Fan Select" mode after idling or completing the scroll.

Temperature Alarm Settings

The Sentry LX allows for temperature alarm settings, with a default of 70°C. These settings are saved. A sound alarm will activate if the detected temperature exceeds the set threshold.

To set the temperature alarm:

  1. Press and hold the triangular "Down Arrow Key" to initiate temperature alarm setting.
  2. Press the "SET" button to cycle through temperature settings for the 5 probes.
  3. Use the "Up and Down Arrows" to adjust the temperatures.
  4. The Sentry LX exits temperature alarm setting mode after idling or completing the "SET" button scroll.

Date, Time, Mode and Alarm Off Setting

In this mode, you can adjust the date, temperature alarm on/off status, and time.

  1. Press the "SET" button to enter this mode.
  2. Continue pressing the "SET" button to cycle through the options.
  3. Use the "Up and Down Arrows" to adjust the settings.
  4. The Sentry LX exits this mode after idling or completing the "SET" button scroll.

Changing between Fahrenheit and Celsius

Hold the "Up Arrow" button to switch between Fahrenheit (°F) and Celsius (°C).

Sound Alarm

The sound alarm will activate under the following conditions:

Pressing any button during an alarm will silence it early.

Reset to Default Settings

Pressing the "RESET" key will restore the meter to factory settings. Note: All previous settings will be deleted.
