Logger Operations

Getting Started

InTempConnect is a web-based software for monitoring logger configurations and downloaded data. The InTemp app allows configuration and data download via mobile devices, with reports saved in the app and uploaded to InTempConnect. The CX5000 Gateway can also be used for automatic configuration and data upload.

For users who do not require cloud-based data access, the logger can be used solely with the InTemp app.

Initial Setup Steps:

  1. Administrator Setup: Create an InTempConnect account or log in if an account already exists. Follow steps c and d for existing accounts.
  2. Logger Setup: Insert two AAA batteries, observing polarity. Secure the battery door with the included screw and screwdriver.
  3. Download InTemp App & Log In: Download the InTemp app from the App Store or Google Play™. Enable Bluetooth. Log in using InTempConnect credentials or create a new account for InTemp app only use. Ensure the correct login option is selected.
  4. Configure Logger: Access the logger via the app's Devices icon. Select a logger profile or set up a custom profile. Administrators can also set up daily logger checks and trip information fields.
  5. Deploy and Start: Deploy the logger to the monitoring location. Logging begins according to the selected profile settings. If daily checks are enabled, perform them daily via the app. The logger LCD will display current, minimum, and maximum readings.

Troubleshooting Connection: Ensure the logger is within range, move closer if needed, adjust device orientation for better signal, or restart the mobile device if connection fails.

Logger Alarms

Alarms can be configured in the logger profile to trigger when temperature readings fall outside specified values. When an alarm trips:

To mute a beeping alarm, press the Mute button. Download the logger to view alarm details and clear indicators.

Passkey Protection

The logger is protected by an encrypted passkey, automatically generated by the InTemp app for InTempConnect users, or optionally set by InTemp app only users. This passkey ensures that only authorized devices can connect to the logger.

Downloading the Logger

Download logger data via the InTemp app to generate reports including readings, events, and alarms. Reports can be shared immediately or accessed later.

Reports are available in PDF, XLSX, and VFC CSV formats. Access previously downloaded reports via the Reports icon in the app. For more details, visit www.intempconnect.com/help.

Performing Logger Checks

Daily or twice daily checks can be performed using the InTemp app. Enable this feature in the app's Settings under 'Record CX400 Logger Checks'.

Notifications can be set up in the app's Reminders option.

Logger Events

The logger records various events to track its operation and status:

Deploying the Logger

Use the four magnets on the logger's back to mount it to a magnetic surface. Protect the external probe cable's sheath during handling.

Protecting the Logger

The logger is designed for indoor use. Protect it from moisture and corrosion. If the logger gets wet, remove batteries immediately and dry the circuit board. Avoid static electricity; ground yourself when handling the logger.

Battery Information

The logger requires two user-replaceable AAA 1.5 V alkaline or lithium batteries. Battery life is approximately 1 year with typical usage, but can be affected by ambient temperature, connection frequency, alarm duration, and battery performance. Use batteries with flat negative terminals; avoid batteries with indentations.

To Install or Replace Batteries:

  1. Remove the battery door using a Phillips-head screwdriver.
  2. Remove old batteries.
  3. Insert new batteries, observing polarity.
  4. Screw the battery door back into place.

WARNING: Do not cut open, incinerate, heat above 85°C (185°F), recharge lithium batteries, or dispose of in fire. Avoid exposing batteries to water. Dispose of batteries according to local regulations.
