Dimensions

Wiring Diagram
The wiring diagram illustrates the connection of the MTD8 Digital Programmable Timer. It shows connections for Live In, Neutral, and Live Load Out. A circuit breaker is recommended before the timer connection. The diagram depicts the timer unit with labeled terminals: L (Live In), N (Neutral), and two output terminals labeled L (Live Load Out) and N (Neutral Load Out).
Installation Instructions
- All program settings can be carried out before installation.
- Press the Reset Button to activate the timer (only required when first installed).
- Connect the timer to 220V AC.
Setting the Clock
- Hold down the M+ button to begin the process.
- While holding down the M+ button, press the D+ button until you see the required day of the week displayed at the top of the screen.
- Continue holding down the M+ button and press the H+ button until you see the required hour in the middle of the screen.
- Continue holding down the M+ button and press the M+ button until you see the required minutes in the middle of the screen.
- Release the M+ button and your time and date are set.
Weekly / Daily Programming
To program ON/OFF times:
- Press the P button once. "1 On" will appear on the bottom left of the screen, indicating the first ON time setting.
- Press the H+ button to set the desired hour for the timer to switch ON.
- Press the M+ button to set the desired minutes for the timer to switch ON.
- Press the D+ button to select the day or range of days for the timer to switch ON. Options include:
- Individual days (Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs, Fri, Sat, Sun)
- 7 Days a week (Default Setting: Mon - Sun)
- Mon-Fri
- Mon-Sat
- Sat & Sun
- Mon-Wed
- Thurs-Sat
- Mon, Wed & Fri
- Tues, Thurs, Sat
- The ON time is now set.
- Press the P button again. "1 Off" will appear on the bottom left of the screen, indicating the first OFF time setting.
- Set the OFF time using the H+, M+, and D+ buttons, similar to setting the ON time.
- Press the P button to move to the next program setting. Repeat steps 1-7 for additional ON/OFF settings.
- You can exit programming at any time by pressing the M+ button.
- If an error is made, press the P button until you reach the program number with the error and correct it.
- Once programmed, press the MANUAL button until AUTO OFF is visible in the bottom right of the screen.
- There are a total of 16 ON/OFF settings available.
Pulse Programming
This mode allows the timer to generate a pulse for a specific duration (e.g., for a school bell).
- To enter pulse setting mode, press and hold the H+ and M+ buttons simultaneously for 5 seconds. "P" will display in the bottom left corner of the screen.
- Press and hold the H+ button to set the pulse duration in minutes, and the M+ button to set the pulse duration in seconds.
- Continue holding the buttons and press the MANUAL button to confirm the pulse time range.
- Pulse time programming is carried out similarly to weekly/daily programming (steps 1-5 for setting ON times), but there are no OFF settings as it is a pulse output.
- Press P to move to the next ON setting.
- To exit pulse setting mode, press and hold the H+ and M+ buttons simultaneously for 5 seconds. The "P" indicator will disappear.
- There are a total of 18 pulse settings available.
Timer Mode
- To enter timer mode, press the P and M+ buttons simultaneously. "d" will display in the bottom left corner of the screen.
- Press and hold the H+ button to set the countdown minutes and the M+ button to set the countdown seconds.
- Continue holding the buttons and press the MANUAL button to confirm the countdown time.
- Press MANUAL to start the countdown.
- Press the P button to restart the countdown.
- Press the P and M+ buttons simultaneously to exit countdown mode.
Recommended Geyser Time Settings
- Program 1: 4:00 ON - 06:00 OFF
- Program 2: 11:00 ON - 13:00 OFF
- Program 3: 17:00 ON - 19:00 OFF
Recommended Energy Saving Time Settings
- 21:00 ON – 06:00 OFF
Troubleshooting
- Ensure the correct day/week is set for ON/OFF switching using the D+ button.
- Verify the timer is in the correct mode by pressing the MANUAL button. The current mode is displayed at the bottom of the screen. Refer to the manual for mode options.
- To reset all settings (this action cannot be undone), press and hold the Reset button for 3 seconds.
