The Braun S5 series includes several models and attachments. Key components are:

1. Foil & Cutter Cassette (53B): The primary shaving head.

Operating Your Braun S5 Shaver

Initial Activation and Charging

For first-time use, connect the shaver to an electrical outlet using the power supply. Once charged, unplug for cordless operation. The recommended charging temperature is 5°C to 35°C.

Shaving Technique

Hold the shaver head at a 90° angle to your skin, ensuring all shaving elements make full contact. Shave against the direction of hair growth using straight back-and-forth movements for optimal results.

Using the Trimmer Attachments

Precision Trimmer (02-PT): Use for detailed shaping.
Beard Trimmer (05-BT): Attach desired comb (1, 2, 3, 5, or 7 mm) by aligning and pressing until it clicks. Select the comb length for your preferred beard style.
Body Trimmer (06-BDT): For sensitive areas, use the 1 mm comb. For other body grooming, use the 3 mm comb. Attach combs by aligning and pressing until they click.
3-Day Beard Trimmer (08-3DBT): Adjust the trimmer wheel to select lengths between 0.5 mm and 2.3 mm for a consistent stubble effect.

Using the Facial Cleansing Brush (03-BR)

The brush head is used for facial cleansing. It is recommended to replace the brush head approximately every 18 months. Avoid using on damaged or irritated skin or wounds. Discontinue use if skin irritation occurs. Avoid contact with eyes and hairline.

Travel Lock

Activate the travel lock feature to prevent accidental activation during transport. The display will indicate when the travel lock is engaged.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Cleaning Under Running Water

Rinse the foil & cutter cassette under hot running water after use with foam or gel. Switch the shaver on while rinsing to remove all residues. The facial cleansing brush (03-BR) should be rinsed under cool running water after each use.

Using the Cleaning Station (14)

The shaver, with the foil & cutter cassette attached, can be cleaned automatically in the cleaning station. The station typically performs cleaning cycles of 3, 6, or 9 seconds, depending on the model and selected program.

Lubrication

For optimal performance, it is recommended to oil the foil & cutter cassette periodically, especially for the trimmer attachments (02-PT, 05-BT, 06-BDT, 08-3DBT).

Foil & Cutter Cassette Replacement

The foil & cutter cassette (53B) should be replaced approximately every 18 months or when performance degrades, indicated by the display.

Safety Information

This appliance is suitable for cleaning under running water and use in a bathtub or shower. For safety, it operates only cordless when wet. Detach from power supply before water contact.
Keep the power supply, charging stand, and cleaning station dry.
Use only the specified Braun power supply (Type 492). Do not tamper with the power supply.
Do not use if the appliance or any attachment is damaged. Do not open the appliance.
The rechargeable battery can only be replaced by an authorized Braun Service center.
Children aged 8 and above, and persons with reduced capabilities, can use the appliance under supervision and with instruction on safe use.
If equipped with a hair clipping attachment, children aged 3 and above can use it for hair clipping under supervision. Children should not play with the appliance.
Cleaning and user maintenance should not be performed by children without supervision.
Recommended ambient temperatures: Charging 5°C-35°C; Storage/Shaving 15°C-35°C. Do not expose to temperatures above 50°C for extended periods.
Do not use the brush (03-BR) on damaged or irritated skin or wounds. Discontinue use if skin irritation occurs. Avoid eye contact.
Use trimmers only for their intended purpose. Do not share the appliance for hygienic reasons.

Disposal

This product contains batteries and recyclable electronic components. Dispose of it at designated electronic waste collection points, not in household waste, to protect the environment.

Warranty

Braun provides a 2-year guarantee from the date of purchase. This covers defects due to material or manufacturing faults. The warranty is void if repairs are undertaken by unauthorized persons or if non-original Braun parts are used.
