QFX PBX-801 Portable Speaker

Safety Information

TO REDUCE THE RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK: DO NOT REMOVE THE COVER ON THIS SPEAKER. THERE ARE NO USER-SERVICEABLE PARTS INSIDE. REFER ALL SERVICING TO A QUALIFIED TECHNICIAN.

To prevent fire or electric shock, do not expose this equipment to rain or moisture. Do not store or operate this product near any liquids, heat sources such as radiators, heat registers. Clean only with a dry cloth. Users should exhibit extra safety and follow all precautions as they are stated.

Product Guide and Controls

The QFX PBX-801 features several controls and indicators:

• DISPLAY: LED Display of Key Functions
• POWER/VOLUME CONTROL: [Power/Volume Knob] for ON/OFF Power and Master Volume Up/Down.
• MIC IN: 1/4" [Microphone Input Jack]
• AUX IN: 3.5mm [Auxiliary Input Jack] to Connect to External Audio Source
• TF CARD: [TF Card Slot] to Play MP3 Music
• USB: [USB Port] to Play MP3 Music
• MODE/LED ON: [Mode/Light Button] Short-press to Select AUX, USB/TF, FM or BT Modes. Press-and-Hold to Turn Party Light On or Off.
• PREV: [Previous Track Button] Press to Select Previous Track or Radio Station.
• PLAY II TWS Button: [Play/Pause/TWS Button]
  • Short-press to play/pause music.
  • Press-and-hold to establish TWS wireless connection between two PBX-801 speakers. Under Bluetooth mode, press TWS button on one speaker only for 3 seconds to establish pairing with a second PBX-801 speaker (sold separately).
  • In FM mode, short-press to enter automatic scanning of radio stations. All scanned stations will be saved automatically.
• NEXT: [Next Track Button] Press to Select Next Track or Radio Station.
• MIC. VOL: [Mic Volume Knob] for Microphone Volume Control.
• TONE: [Tone Knob] to Adjust the Tonal Balance.
• DC IN 5V: [DC 5V Input] for USB Charging (5VDC / 1A Minimum).
• LED: [Charging Indicator LED] (Red=Charging, Off=Fully Charged).

Operation Instructions

Power Source and Charging

Power Source: Charge the unit at least four hours prior to first use and then recharge it as needed. Turn the [Power/Volume Knob] to turn the system on.

Charge the Battery: When the battery is charging, the charge LED indicator will be red and turn off when fully charged. Connect the USB charge cable to the DC5V interface of the speaker firmly. Once the battery is fully charged, disconnect the USB charge cable. The speaker functions normally while charging.

FM Function

1. Short-press the MODE/LED ON button to toggle to FM mode.
2. Press the PLAY/PAUSE button on the control panel to automatically search and save radio stations.
3. Then press PREVIOUS or NEXT to select and listen to saved radio stations.

Bluetooth

1. Long-press the MODE/LED ON button to toggle to Bluetooth (BT) mode.
2. Open the Bluetooth setting on your phone, tablet, or any other Bluetooth-enabled audio device and select "QFX PBX-801".
3. The unit and device will then connect via Bluetooth.

True Wireless Stereo (TWS)

True Wireless Stereo (TWS) allows for two speakers of the same model to connect wirelessly in stereo. You will need two PBX-801 speakers for TWS operation.

To set up TWS:

1. Turn on both PBX-801 speakers. Toggle the MODE button to BLUETOOTH mode on both speakers.
2. To set up TWS operation, press the PLAY II TWS button on only one speaker for 3 seconds. Then both speakers will connect together.
3. Next, connect your Bluetooth-enabled phone to the speaker. Go to your phone's Bluetooth settings, search, and connect to Bluetooth name “QFX PBX-801".
4. Once the connection is established, you can play music from your phone and enjoy True Wireless Stereo audio through your two PBX-801 speakers.
5. To exit TWS mode, long-press the PLAY II TWS button for 3 seconds.

Limited Product Warranty Policy

Before returning your Product for service, please read the instruction manual carefully and visit www.qfxusa.com for product updates and extended support documentation. If you are still having trouble, contact the QFX Customer Support Department.

QFX, Inc. warrants to the original purchaser ("Customer") that for the applicable Warranty Period, the Product will be free from defects in material or workmanship under normal, non-commercial use.

Warranty Period covers Parts and Labor, beginning from the original date of Customer purchase. If a defective Product is returned during the applicable Warranty Period, QFX will, at its option, repair or replace the Product (or any component) free of charge for Parts and/or Labor during the specified Coverage Period. Customer is responsible for applicable shipping charges.

Warranty Exclusions: This warranty covers only normal use and is not transferable. QFX is not responsible for warranty replacement if the QFX label or logo is removed, or if the product fails due to:

• Improper maintenance or function due to misuse, abuse, immersion in liquids, improper installation, improper shipping, or damage from disasters (fire, flood).
• Service other than by QFX.
• Neglect, accidents, improper application, violation of operating instructions, customer-induced damage, or alteration/removal of serial numbers.
• Modification or repair by unauthorized parties.
• Damage from power surges, incorrect voltage, misconnection, or device malfunction.
• Cosmetic damage from normal wear and tear.
• Shipping damage.
• Damage from heat sources, sunlight, electromagnetic conditions, or climatic conditions.
• Acts of God.

The Product is sold for personal, non-commercial use only. It is not warranted for commercial or rental use. QFX disclaims warranty for applications where data stored on the Product could be breached or compromised, or relied upon for medical or lifesaving applications. Customer assumes all risks for such uses.

Limitation of Liability: EXCEPT FOR EXPRESS WARRANTIES STATED, QFX DISCLAIMS ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, QFX IS NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOST PROFITS OR REVENUES, LOSS OR INACCURACY OF DATA, OR COST OF SUBSTITUTE GOODS. QFX's aggregate liability is limited to the cumulative product fees paid by the Customer for the products causing the damages.

This Warranty gives Customer specific rights, and Customer may also have other rights that vary from jurisdiction to jurisdiction.

Return Process:

• Send the Product PREPAID to the address below in original packaging or a reasonable substitute.
• Include:
  • A dated sales receipt (showing place of purchase, model number, amount paid).
  • A detailed description of the problem.
  • Customer's full name, phone number, and return address.
  • All accessories that came with the Product package.
• Include a cashier's check or money order payable to QFX, Inc., for the amount specified for return shipping and handling. Contact QFX Customer Support to arrange payment via credit card if needed.
• No returned Product will be shipped back to a PO BOX.
• Products found to have no problem or missing requirements may be returned to the customer.
