First Use Instructions
Step a1: Illustrates removing the appliance from its packaging.

Espresso Preparation
Step a12: Turn the main knob to the ON position (▶️). The indicator light illuminates.
Step a13: Wait for the machine to heat up. Dispense water through the portafilter without coffee.
Step a14: Repeat the water dispensing process.
Step a15: Turn the knob to STOP (⏹️).
Step a16: Clean the portafilter and filter.
Step a17: Repeat steps a1-a6 and a13-a16 for initial setup.
Step a18: Insert the portafilter into the machine.
Step a19: Turn the knob to dispense coffee into the cup(s).
Step a20: Enjoy your espresso. ?

Cappuccino Preparation
Step c1: Prepare espresso in a cup.
Step c2: Fill a milk jug with approximately 100 ml of cold milk (around 5°C). ❄️ 5°C
Step c3: Turn the main knob to ON (▶️) and wait for the machine to heat up.
Step c4: Insert the steam wand into the milk jug.
Step c5: Open the steam knob to froth the milk. Continue for a maximum of 60 seconds. ?
Step c6: Close the steam knob and turn the main knob to STOP (⏹️).
Step c7: Pour the frothed milk into the espresso.
Step c8: Enjoy your cappuccino. ?
Milk System Cleaning
For EC230 & EC235:
Step c10: After use, open the steam knob (?).
Step c11: Close the steam knob (?).
Step c12: Clean the steam wand with a damp cloth.
For EC260:
Step c10: After use, open the steam knob (?).
Step c11: Close the steam knob (?).
Step c12: Clean the steam wand with a damp cloth.
Step c13: Detach the steam wand from the machine.
Step c14: Clean the individual parts of the steam wand.
Hot Water Dispensing
Step d1: Place a cup under the steam wand.
Step d2: Turn the knob to dispense hot water.
Step d3: Dispense hot water into the cup.
Step d4: Dispense hot water for a maximum of 60 seconds.
Step d5: Turn the knob to STOP (⏹️).
Step d6: Enjoy hot water, for example, for tea. ☕
General Cleaning
Daily Cleaning:
- After each use, clean the portafilter and filter.
- Wipe the appliance exterior with a damp cloth.
Weekly Cleaning:
- Clean the water tank.
- Clean the drip tray.
Cleaning the Drip Tray and Filter Holder Assembly (Steps e8-e14):
Step e8: Remove the drip tray and filter holder assembly from the machine.
Step e9: Disassemble the filter holder and drip tray components.
Step e10: Rinse all disassembled components under running water. ?
Step e11: Use a brush to clean stubborn residue from components.
Step e12: Reassemble the drip tray and filter holder components.
Step e13: Reinsert the cleaned drip tray assembly into the machine.
Step e14: Clean the filter holder.
Cleaning the Brew Group (Steps e15-e17):
Step e15: Rotate the brew group assembly. ?
Step e16: Clean the brew group assembly.
Step e17: Reinsert the cleaned brew group assembly.
Descaling Program
Regular descaling is recommended to maintain performance and longevity. Use DeLonghi EcoDecalk descaler.
Step f1: Prepare the machine for descaling.
Step f2: Open the water tank lid.
Step f3: Fill the water tank with water and DeLonghi EcoDecalk descaler.
Step f4: Fill the tank up to the MAX line. ⚠️
Step f5: Place the water tank back into the machine.
Step f6: Insert the portafilter.
Step f7: Place a 1-liter container under the spout.
Step f8: Turn the main knob to ON (▶️) and wait for the machine to heat up.
Step f9: Turn the knob to dispense the descaling solution.
Step f10: Dispense the descaling solution.
Step f11: Dispense for approximately 45 seconds.
Step f12: Turn the knob to STOP (⏹️).
Step f13: Wait for 5 minutes. ⏱️
Step f14: Repeat steps f9-f13 three times (? x3).
Step f15: Empty the container and rinse the portafilter and drip tray.
Step f16: Fill the water tank with fresh water.
Step f17: Place a 1-liter container under the spout.
Step f18: Turn the knob to dispense fresh water.
Step f19: Dispense fresh water.
Step f20: Dispense fresh water.
Step f21: Turn the knob to STOP (⏹️).
Step f22: Repeat steps f15-f21 once (? x1).
Step f23: Descaling program complete.
Troubleshooting
Refer to the following table for common issues:
Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
---|
No power | Appliance not plugged in. | Check power cord connection. |
No water dispensing | Water tank empty or not seated correctly. | Fill water tank and ensure it is properly seated. |
Coffee not hot enough | Machine not fully heated. | Wait for the heating indicator light to turn on. |
Machine performance reduced / Slow dispensing | Limescale buildup. | Perform the descaling program as described on page 11. ⚠️ |
Machine turns off unexpectedly | Auto-Off function activated. | The appliance has an automatic shut-off feature for energy saving. |
