Hilti HUS4-A(F) 14 Concrete Anchor Installation Guide
Product Model: HUS4-A(F) 14
Manufacturer: Hilti
Product Overview and Dimensions
The Hilti HUS4-A(F) 14 is a concrete anchor designed for secure fastening. The following diagram illustrates key dimensions and installation parameters:
Anchor Type: HUS4-A(F) 14
Thread Size: M16
Required Hole Diameter (d0): 14 mm
Maximum Fixture Thickness (df): ≤ 18 mm
Wrench Size (SW): 12
The diagram shows three nominal embedment depths:
- hnom1: 65 mm
- hnom2: 85 mm
- hnom3: 115 mm
Corresponding maximum fixture thicknesses are denoted as tfix.max1, tfix.max2, and tfix.max3.
A critical installation requirement is stated as: L - tfix.max - 30mm ≥ hnom.req, where L is the anchor length and tfix.max is the maximum fixture thickness.
Embedment Depths and Minimum Fixture Thicknesses
The following table details the minimum fixture thicknesses (tfix.min) for various HUS4-A(F) 14 anchor lengths at different nominal embedment depths.
Anchor Model | Nominal Embedment Depth (hnom) | Minimum Fixture Thickness (tfix.min) | ||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
hnom1 65 mm | hnom2 85 mm | hnom3 115 mm | tfix.min1 | tfix.min2 | tfix.min3 | |

Installation Steps
Follow these steps for proper installation of the HUS4-A(F) 14 anchor:
Step 1: Hole Drilling
Drill a hole in the base material using a suitable drill bit. The diagram (2a) shows the correct drilling process, indicated by a checkmark [✔️].
Step 2: Hole Cleaning
Thoroughly clean the drilled hole to remove dust and debris. The diagram (2b) indicates the correct cleaning procedure with a checkmark [✔️].
Step 3: Anchor Insertion
Insert the HUS4-A(F) anchor into the cleaned hole. A setting tool, such as TE-CD or TE-YD, may be required for proper insertion (Diagram 2c).
Step 4: Setting the Anchor
Use a hammer (indicated by "2x" for two blows) or an impact wrench (indicated by "3x" for three blows) to set the anchor correctly into the base material (Diagrams 3a and 3b).
Step 5: Edge Distance and Slotting
Ensure correct edge distances (h1) and any necessary slotting are maintained as per diagrams 4a, 4b, and 4c, depending on the specific installation scenario.
Step 6: Final Anchor Placement
The anchor should be fully inserted into the hole, achieving the nominal embedment depth (hnom) as shown in diagrams 5 and 6.
Step 7: Tightening
Tighten the anchor nut using a wrench of size SW 24. The maximum installation torque (Tinst) must not exceed 80 Nm (Diagram 7).
