Installation Instructions
The following steps detail the installation process for the Hilti HUS4-H(F) 16 G02 concrete screw anchor.
Step 1: Drilling
Drill a hole in the base material using a 16 mm diameter drill bit (d₀ = 16 mm). The hole diameter (d₁) is 20 mm.
Diagram Description: Shows a drill bit entering a concrete wall.
Step 2: Setting Installation Depth (h₁)
2a: Ensure the installation depth (h₁) is greater than or equal to the nominal embedment depth (h_nom) plus 40 mm.
2b: Ensure the installation depth (h₁) is greater than or equal to the nominal embedment depth (h_nom) plus 10 mm.
Diagram Description: Illustrates the relationship between the screw's embedment depth (h₁) and the base material's nominal embedment depth (h_nom), showing different requirements for types 2a and 2b.
Step 3: Screw Insertion and Tightening
3a: Insert the HUS4-H(F) 16 screw into the drilled hole. Use the appropriate Hilti tool (e.g., SIW 6AT-22, SIW 6-22, etc.) with the Hex 24 interface to drive the screw.
3b: Tighten the screw until it is flush with the surface or at the required torque. The diagram shows the screw being driven into the base material.
Diagram Description: Shows the screw being inserted and then tightened using a power tool. Multiple tightening steps (3x) are indicated.
Step 4: Optional Adjustment
An optional adjustment of a maximum of 10 mm is possible. The screw can be backed out by a maximum of 2x (referring to turns or a small increment).
Diagram Description: Illustrates an optional adjustment where the screw can be slightly backed out or repositioned within a limited range (max. 10 mm).
Step 5: Final Check and Safety
Ensure the anchor is correctly installed and flush with the surface. Always wear appropriate safety equipment, including eye protection (?️).
Diagram Description: Shows the fully installed anchor, a warning symbol (⚠️), and a person wearing eye protection.
Section B: HUS4-H vs. HUS4-HF and Tool Usage
This section compares the HUS4-H 16 and HUS4-HF 16 models. It also shows the installation process using the HRG 16 tool, indicating correct (✔️) and incorrect (❌) methods, and the final anchor placement with a load symbol (⚖️). It also shows the ETA and DIBt - aBG approvals.
