2. Safety Instructions
A) General
The BRConnect may only be operated in accordance with the intended use and specified technical data. Please adhere to all instructions from BRC Solar GmbH and warning notices on the BRConnect. Warning notices must be clearly legible and must not be removed or altered. Applicable local laws, regulations, directives, and standards must be prioritized for operation, installation, uninstallation, and maintenance. The safety instructions in this manual are not exhaustive and serve only as supplementary information.
B) Electrical Specialists
All work related to the product must be carried out by qualified electricians who must comply with national and regional regulations. Electrical work must adhere to the 5 safety rules of electrical engineering. Only install an intact BRConnect with a complete scope of delivery. Use only included accessories, especially for the power supply. Do not modify the BRConnect. Ensure voltage-free string cables are run through the BRConnect during assembly to prevent electric shocks.
C) End User
Under no circumstances should you perform any work on the BRConnect yourself. Do not open the housing. Keep this instruction manual accessible for all product-related activities.
3. Product Overview
A) Assembly
Step 1: Attach the wall mount. Mark the position with a pencil and spirit level, drill 4 holes (6mm), sink 4 dowel pins, and mount the wall mount with 4 screws and washers using a screwdriver.
Step 2: Clip the BRConnect onto the designated pins of the wall mount by pressing evenly on both sides until a click is heard.
Step 3: Pass the string cable through the cable bushing, ensuring the cable is voltage-free. Connect the 24V and Ethernet cables. Ensure correct connection of string cables to prevent errors. Note the sticker on top. Connect the string cable to the inverter with the DC switch off, paying attention to polarity. Connect the string cable to the PV system, then switch on the inverter on the DC side.
B) Intended Use
The BRConnect is a gateway used with the M600-M and BRC Power Manager for module-level data monitoring of photovoltaic systems. Data from the M600-M is communicated to the BRConnect via powerline communication over DC cables and processed there. The end user can view this data via the BRC Power Manager App. A fixed installation by a qualified electrician is required. The BRConnect has an IP40 protection rating and is intended for indoor use, away from liquids, humidity, heat sources, and direct sunlight. It is designed for ambient temperatures of -20°C to +55°C and operation up to 2,000m above sea level. It features Ethernet and WiFi interfaces for data transfer.
WiFi Standard: WiFi 4; 802.11n
WLAN Frequency Range: 2.4 GHz
Improper use voids the warranty. Refer to the limited product warranty at https://brc-solar.de/downloads/.
