8. Setting Up
When selecting the setup location, take the room layout into consideration (e.g. location of the nearest socket). Avoid proximity to direct sunlight, vibrations, dust, hot and cold temperatures and damp. The device must not be placed next to powerful transformers or motors.
The device must be operated on a stable, level surface. There must be enough space around the device for air to circulate, otherwise heat will not dissipate properly. Only place the device on smooth, level surfaces (not carpets or other uneven surfaces). Do not cover the ventilation slots. Failure to observe these instructions may damage the device.
Do not drill holes or screw extra screws into the device. This will damage the interior components and may cause a fatal electric shock.
Ensure that the device is placed on a stable surface to prevent it from falling off and causing injury.
Given the variety of paints and varnishes used to coat furniture, it cannot be ruled out that the device feet could leave visible traces on furniture due to a chemical reaction. Do not place the device on top of valuable furniture without appropriate protection.
9. Inserting Batteries into the Remote Control
You can control the amplifier functions conveniently from the distance using the included IR remote control.
Keep batteries out of the reach of children. Check that the batteries are inserted with the correct polarity. Remove the batteries when you do not plan to use the remote control for a prolonged period. Do not leave batteries lying around, as they constitute a choking hazard for children and pets. Seek immediate medical attention if a battery is swallowed.
- Slide the battery compartment cover off the remote control.
- Insert two new 1.5 V micro-batteries (AAA) into the battery compartment. Pay attention to the polarity markings on the bottom of the battery compartment.
- Slide the cover back onto the remote control.
- Replace the batteries when the range of the remote control deteriorates or the remote control ceases to function properly.
- Use alkaline batteries to ensure a longer battery life.
- Never mix old and new batteries or batteries from different manufacturers. Do not mix non-rechargeable batteries with rechargeable batteries.
10. How to Connect
a) Connecting the Source Devices
The amplifier features connectors for analogue and digital audio devices.
Only connect devices with the same sockets as those found on the amplifier.
Use suitable connecting cables. Unsuitable cables may cause interferences or malfunctions.
The OPTICAL INPUT (14) and COAXIAL INPUT (15) are different options for the same digital input; only one can be connected at a time.
How to Connect | Description | Example of Use |
---|---|---|
AUX INPUT (11) | Analogue audio input for units with RCA output. | Used to connect a tuner. |
AUX OUTPUT (12) | Analogue audio output for units with RCA input. This output is controlled by the volume control. | Used to connect another amplifier (e.g., active subwoofer). |
HDMI INPUT (13) | HDMI audio input | Used to connect a Blue-ray player. |
OPTICAL INPUT (14) | Optical digital input | Used to connect a CD player. |
COAXIAL INPUT (15) | Coaxial digital input | Used to connect a CD player. |
For analogue connections AUX INPUT (11) and AUX OUTPUT (12): The "L" socket connects to the left RCA connector, and the "R" socket connects to the right RCA connector.
b) Connecting Speakers
Two cables are required per speaker. Insulate all terminals. Ensure no sharp edges can damage cables.
Ensure speakers have sufficient power rating (see "Technical data").
Connect speakers directly. Do not use headphone adapters or distribution boxes. Consult a specialist if unsure.
Check speaker polarity (observe plus and minus markings).
The amplifier is designed for speakers with 4-8 Ohms impedance. Connect only one speaker per output.
Banana plugs or stripped speaker wires (max. 2.5 mm diameter) can be used.
To attach speaker wires, unscrew clamps, insert stripped ends, and tighten clamps. Ensure strands are fully inserted to prevent short circuits.
How to Connect | Connect to |
---|---|
R+ | right speaker + |
R- | right speaker - |
L+ | left speaker + |
L- | left speaker - |
