Operation

Installing Batteries in the Remote Control

  1. Release the screw using a Phillips head screwdriver and remove the battery cover.
  2. Install 2 x 1.5V AAA batteries (not supplied) into the battery compartment. Pay attention to the orientation of the polarity symbols (-, +).
  3. Replace the battery cover and tighten the screw.

Charging the Robot Dog's Battery

  1. To charge the product, use the USB charging cable provided. First, from underneath the robot dog, release the screw using a Phillips head screwdriver and remove the battery cover.
  2. Disconnect and remove the rechargeable battery from the robot dog.
  3. Connect the USB charging cable to a power source using one of the following methods:
    • Computer charging: Insert the USB plug into a computer USB port. Then connect the battery plug to the USB charging cable. The USB charging indicator will remain steadily lit while charging. After approximately 120 minutes, the indicator will turn off, indicating that charging is complete.
    • DC device charging: Connect the USB plug to a USB power source that supplies 5V DC with a current of at least 500mA (such as a USB wall adapter or power bank). Then insert the other end into the lithium battery socket. The USB charging indicator will remain steadily lit while charging. After approximately 120 minutes, the indicator will turn off, indicating that charging is complete.
  4. Once charging is complete, connect the battery to the correct electrodes in the battery compartment. Replace the battery cover and secure it with the previously removed screw.

Power and Sleep Functions

Voice Control Phrases and Responses

For optimal voice interaction, aim the remote control directly at the robot dog from up to 3 metres and speak in standard English. If the response is delayed or inaccurate, recharge the robot dog. Avoid using the robot in noisy environments for best results.

Troubleshooting

Symptom Cause Correction
The remote control fails to function The batteries may be installed incorrectly. Check and make sure that the battery is installed in the correct orientation according to the polarity symbols shown.
Low battery. Replace with new batteries.
Remote control range exceeded. Use the remote-control within 3 meters of the robot dog.
The robot dog's manual and voice commands are not sensitive enough Remote control range exceeded. The effective straight-line distance of the remote control following the function command is 2-3m. Do not point the remote control to the high side or left to right.
When the battery of the remote control are low, the manual follow function will also fail. Replace with new batteries.
Uneven surface will also affect the follow function. Use the manual follow function on flat and even surface.
The robot dog does not react to commands. The robot dog is not turned on. Press the 'Power' button on the robot dog to turn on the power.
Robot dog battery is not installed correctly. Remove and reinstall the rechargeable battery, ensuring it makes a proper connection.
Low battery. Recharge the battery.
Slurred voices and dim lights. Recharge the battery. Recharge the battery.
