Raychem MI Series Heating Systems (IEC / ATEX)
Introduction
Raychem Mineral Insulated (MI) heating units feature a robust and globally unified design, offering superior protection against moisture and corrosion. They are ATEX/IECEx approved for hazardous areas. Optimal system design is facilitated by Raychem TraceCalc Pro software, which supports SSR power modulation.
Construction
Power Connection
Features an extreme moisture-resistant pot seal for harsh ambient conditions. Includes 300 mm flexible tails with stranded conductors to prevent breakage during repeated manipulation. Equipped with a Ni-plated brass gland for maximum corrosion protection, M25 size for all variants.
Heating Cable
Available as single core or dual core, reducing cable runs and simplifying installation. Sheath material options include:
- HCC/HCH: Copper
- HDF/HDC: Cupro-nickel
- HSQ: Stainless steel
- HAx: Alloy 825
- HIQ: Inconel
Various sheath materials are offered depending on the application and environment.
Cold Lead + Circuit Tag
Utilizes Alloy 825 sheath material as standard for maximum corrosion protection at exposed parts. Includes a 1.2 m cold lead and 30 cm pigtails for easy connection to the power supply. Features a stainless steel tag plate with all approval information.
Cold/Hot Joint
Designed with a laser-welded or brazed construction, fit for purpose. Features a conical "bell mouth" to eliminate bending stress at the weld.
End Cap
Designed with a laser-welded or brazed construction, fit for purpose.
Control and Monitoring
Maximize plant productivity and energy efficiency with solutions ranging from simple thermostats to advanced electronic control and monitoring systems. Data integration into your process control system and real-time monitoring of circuit status and integrity provide full visibility, enabling preventive maintenance and minimizing plant downtime and risk.
Complete and Proven System
- Designed with TraceCalc Pro, a design software based on decades of heat tracing engineering experience.
- Brazed designs are suitable up to 550°C, while laser-welded designs are available for higher temperatures and loads to cover any application.
- Compliant with international standards.
- Hazardous area system approvals are provided, eliminating the need for customer risk assessment.
- Offers a 10-year product warranty extension for complete peace of mind.
