4. Pre-Operation Inspection
For your safety and to maximize the service life of your equipment, it is very important to perform pre-operation checks. If any issues are found, correct them before operating the pump. Never run the engine in a closed or poorly ventilated area due to poisonous carbon monoxide in exhaust gas. Keep the pump at least 1m away from walls and equipment to prevent fire hazards.
Routine Check
Look around and underneath the pump for signs of oil or gasoline leaks. Remove any excessive dirt or debris, especially from around the engine and ensure all parts are tightened.
Check The Suction And Discharge Hoses
Check the general condition of the hoses. Ensure they are in serviceable condition before connecting. The suction hose must be reinforced to prevent collapse. Check the sealing washer in the suction hose connector for good condition and ensure hose connectors and clamps are securely installed. Verify the strainer is in good condition and installed on the suction hose.
Check Engine Oil
Place the engine on a level surface and check the engine oil level. Screw out the oil dipstick, wipe it clean, and screw it back in fully. Remove the dipstick again to check the level against the marks. If the level is low, add the recommended oil to the upper mark. Operating with oil at the lower mark will cause engine damage.

Check Air Filter
A dirty air filter restricts airflow, reducing engine and pump performance. Remove the air filter housing by unscrewing the butterfly nut. If the element is dirty, clean it; if damaged, replace it. If it is an oil bath type, ensure it is properly seated after cleaning and oiling.
Visual: Air Filter Cover, Element, Air Filter Elbow.
Check The Fuel
Check the fuel level by removing the fuel tank cap. If the level is too low, add fuel, ensuring not to overfill past the fuel strainer shoulder. Refuel in a well-ventilated area with the engine cooled. Be careful not to spill fuel, as it can damage paint and plastic.

Fuel Recommendations
Unleaded gasoline is recommended for fewer engine and spark plug deposits and extended exhaust system life. Never use stale or contaminated gasoline or oil/gasoline mixtures. Avoid dirt or water in the fuel tank.
5. Operation
Safe Operating Precautions
To safely utilize the pump, understand its operation and controls. Review the "Safety Instruction" and "PRE-OPERATION INSPECTION" sections before first use. Exhaust contains poisonous carbon monoxide gas; avoid enclosed areas. Breathing carbon monoxide can cause unconsciousness or death.
Pump Placement
For best performance, place the pump near the water level and use hoses that are no longer than necessary. Minimizing suction head (placing the pump near the water level) reduces self-priming time. As head increases, pump output decreases.
Visual: Diagram showing Suction Head, Discharge Head, and Total Head.
Suction Hose Installation
Use a commercially available hose, hose connector, and the provided hose clamp to install the suction hose. Ensure the hose dimension is longer than the water suction port dimension. Minimum hose dimensions are specified. Use a hose clamp to securely fasten the hose connector to the suction port to prevent air and water leakage. Check the sealing washer's condition. Install the strainer on the other end of the suction hose and secure it with a hose clamp to prevent clogging by debris.

Discharge Hose Installation
Use commercially available hose and hose connector, and the provided hose clamp to install the discharge hose. Tighten the hose clamp securely to prevent the discharge hose from disconnecting under high pressure, which improves pump output.
Priming The Pump
Before starting the engine, fill the pump with water: unscrew the priming plug and fill the pump fully with clean water. Do not unscrew the priming plug during operation to avoid damage and injury. Reinstall and tighten the priming plug securely after priming. Dry operation will destroy the pump seal. If dry operation occurs, stop the engine immediately, allow it to cool, and then prime it.

6. Starting The Engine
- Screw off the priming plug and prime the pump with water until the pump chamber is full.
- Move the fuel valve lever to the "ON" position. Visual: Fuel Cock, Fuel Valve Lever.
- To start a cold engine, move the choke lever to the "CLOSED" position. Visual: Choke Lever.
- Move the throttle lever away from the "SLOW" position about 1/3 of the way toward the "FAST" position. Visual: Throttle Lever.
- Turn the engine switch to the "ON" position. Visual: Engine Switch.
- Pull the starter grip lightly until resistance is felt, then pull it briskly. Do not allow the starter grip to snap back; return it gently. Visual: Starter Grip.
- If the choke lever was moved to the CLOSED position, gradually move it to the OPEN position as the engine warms up. Visual: Choke Lever.
- Setting engine speed: After starting, move the throttle lever to the FAST position for self-priming and check pump output. Pump output is controlled by adjusting engine speed; moving the throttle lever towards FAST increases output, and towards SLOW decreases it.
7. Stopping The Engine
To stop the engine in an emergency, turn the engine switch to the OFF position. Under normal conditions, follow this procedure:
- Move the throttle lever to the "SLOW" position. Visual: Throttle Lever.
- Turn the engine switch to "OFF" position. Visual: Engine Switch.
- Turn the fuel valve lever to "OFF" position. Visual: Fuel Cock, Fuel Valve Lever.
After use, remove the pump drain plug and drain the pump chamber. Remove the filler cap and flush the pump chamber with clean, fresh water. Allow water to drain, then reinstall the plugs.

Note: Used engine oil may cause skin cancer with prolonged contact. Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water after handling used oil.
Engine Oil Recommendations
Engine oil affects performance and service life. Do not use non-detergent or 2-stroke engine oils. Recommended oil: 4-stroke gasoline oil SE, SF grades under API service. Select oil based on local temperature. Recommended operating range: -5 to 40°C.
Air Filter Service
Clean or replace the air filter element regularly to maintain engine performance. Wash the element with detergent and warm water, or use a non-flammable solvent. Soak in clean engine oil until saturated, then squeeze out excess oil. Clean the air filter housing and rubber cushion. Prevent dust from entering the carburetor's air path.
Spark Plug Service
Recommended spark plugs: NGK BP6ES or equivalents. Using the wrong model can damage the engine. Remove the spark plug cap and clean around the base. Use a plug wrench to remove the spark plug. Measure the plug gap with a feeler gauge; it should be 0.70-0.80 mm. Replace if damaged. Check the spark plug gasket. Screw in the spark plug carefully by hand to avoid damaging the cylinder head thread. Tighten with a spark plug wrench, compressing the gasket (1/2 turn for new plugs, 1/8-1/4 turn for used plugs). Install the spark plug cap.
