XtremepowerUS 75172 Automatic & Manual Pool Cover Pump
Instructions on Application
Thank you for purchasing the XtremepowerUS Pool Cover Pump. Before using the equipment for the first time, please read this instruction manual carefully and follow its contents. Keep this manual for future reference. Read the manual thoroughly to understand the product's application, restrictions, and potential dangers before installation, operation, or repair. Following these instructions can prevent personal injury and property loss.
Application:
- This Pool Cover Pump is primarily used to drain accumulated water from pool covers or as a submersible pump.
- Medium to be pumped: Non-drinking water with impurity particles less than 0.2 inches. Do not use it to pump corrosive substances, inflammable or explosive substances, or mud sewage with low flowability. The liquid temperature should not exceed 95°F (35°C).
- The pump is designed for household use only, not for industrial or commercial use.
- The manufacturer is not liable for damage caused by non-conforming use or faulty operation.
Safety Instructions
⚠️ Attention! There may be a risk of fatal electric shock if safety tips are not followed.
- It is recommended to set up a separate branch line for the pump's power supply socket. The socket power supply must conform to: 115V / 60HZ / 3.4A, with reliable grounding.
- It is recommended to install a current-type leakage current breaker with a rated leakage current not exceeding 30mA for the pump's power supply connection.
- Electrical connections may only be performed by qualified electrical professionals, following state provisions.
- Do not use the power cord to drag, move, or transport the equipment during use. Avoid pulling the power cord over sharp edges or compressing it, as this may cause electric shock or fatal injury due to cord damage.
- Inspect the plug conductor for damage. If the connecting conductor is damaged, contact authorized customer service for replacement to avoid danger.
- For safety, all installation, repair, and parts replacement may only be completed by authorized service staff.
- Do not use the pump to pump chemicals or corrosive liquids, which can damage the shell and cause electrical short circuits. Do not use this pump for pumping gasoline or other liquids with a low ignition point, which can cause explosions or fires.
- Individuals with physical limitations, sensory impairments, limited understanding, or insufficient experience and knowledge are prohibited from using this equipment without supervision or guidance from a qualified person who can instruct on safe operation and potential hazards.
- Children over 8 years old may use this equipment only under the supervision of their custodians or if they have received guidance on its use and understand the potential dangers. Do not let children clean or repair the equipment without supervision.
- Do not operate the pump dry for extended periods, as this can damage the shell and cause electrical short circuits.
- Always disconnect the pump from the main power supply before cleaning and repairing.
- Do not use the pump when people are in the water.
- When the ambient temperature is below freezing, do not use the pump; store it properly to prevent shell breakage and electrical short circuits.
Overall Dimension
The pump's overall dimensions are approximately 12.2 inches in height, 8.8 inches in width, and 6.7 inches in depth.
Equipment Components
The pump consists of the following parts:
- Handle
- Pump body
- Base
- Modular switch button (automatic / manual)
- Power cord
- Water level induction pin (two points)
- Base hoisting rope lug
- Air exhaust port
- Single-direction check valve
- Output connector
Accessory: Hoisting rope (25 FT)
Working Modes
Manual Control Mode
- Rotate the knob to the 'Manual' position.
- Plug in the power cord.
- In manual mode, the pump will delay for 1 second before starting after the power cord is plugged in and will run continuously until the power cord is disconnected.
Automatic Control Mode
- Rotate the knob to the 'Auto' position.
- Plug in the power cord.
- In automatic mode, when the water level reaches the induction pin position, the pump will delay for 1 second before starting. After the water level drops below the induction pin for 15 seconds, the pump will stop automatically. This cycle repeats.
Application Scenario
The pump is designed for draining accumulated water on pool covers. It can be placed on the pool cover, and water is drained via a connecting hose. The maximal lift height is 7 meters.
⚠️ Attention! Place the pump on the water accumulation spot in the center of the pool cover and drain the accumulated water on the pool cover through the connecting hose.
Installation and Use
⚠️ Attention! The surface with the "Out" marking on the single-direction check valve should face outward.
- Place the single-direction check valve into the threaded hole of the pump body. Tighten the output connector onto the water outlet of the pump and then connect the drainage hose.
- Run the attached hoisting rope through the base hoisting rope lug and tie it securely. ⚠️ Attention! Do not obstruct the water level induction pins when tying, to prevent damage to them when pulling the pump body.
- Place the pump on the edge of the pool cover. ⚠️ Attention! Prevent the power cord, hoisting rope, and connecting hose from rubbing against the pool edge, which may cause damage. A connecting hose length of 7.5m is recommended.
- Use the hoisting rope to position the pump in the center of the pool cover where water accumulates. Connect the power cord.
⚠️ Attention! The pump must be placed vertically. Do not place the pump on a fragile, damaged, or leaking pool cover. Inspect the pump's working state daily. If a fault occurs, disconnect the power supply immediately to prevent electric shock. For best results, place the pump where water accumulates most easily, ensuring the bottom of the pump contacts the cover completely. Periodically clear impurities from the cover and the pump inlet to prevent obstruction effectively.
Daily Maintenance
If performance drops during daily use, cleaning the product is required.
- If the motor shell is completely airtight, it requires no repair.
- If the pump runs normally but fails to pump water, inspect the single-direction check valve.
- Impurities around the pump can reduce performance or cause continuous operation issues; please clear impurities around the filter periodically.
- Impurities adhered to the induction pins may prevent the pump from starting normally; clean the dirt on the induction pins periodically.
- To clear impurities inside the pump that may cause abnormal operation or obstruction:
- a. Unplug the power cord.
- b. Disassemble the 8 screws shown in the diagram and remove the base.
- c. Disassemble the impeller and diversion disc.
- d. Clean all impurities from the impeller, diversion disc, and the base's water inlet.
- e. Disassemble the 3 screws shown in the diagram and remove the handle.
- f. Clean the air exhaust port on the pump with a pin or paper clip.
- g. Reassemble the diversion disc and impeller.
- h. Reassemble the base.
- i. Reassemble the 8 screws, ensuring they are not too tight and none are missed.
- j. Reassemble the handle.
- k. Reassemble the 3 screws, ensuring they are not too tight and none are missed.
- l. Plug in the power cord again.
