Assembly and Operating Instructions
Getting Started: Preparation and Lane Changing
This document provides assembly and operating instructions for the Carrera DIGITAL 143 DTM RACING slot car set.
Preparation of Start and Points Function:
- Ensure the car's guide keel is correctly positioned within the track slot.
- Verify that the double sliding contacts are making proper contact with the current-carrying track sections.
- Place the cars onto the connecting track.
Lane Changing Operation:
- When changing lanes, press and hold the button on the speed controller until the car has successfully passed the points (lane change section).
Track Layout and Components:
The assembled track dimensions are approximately 213 x 92 cm (6.99 x 3.02 feet), with a total track length of 6.3 meters (20.66 feet).
A diagram illustrates the various track components and accessories included in the set. Key items and their quantities typically include:
- Straight track pieces (e.g., 6x)
- Curve track pieces (e.g., 3x)
- Power lap (1x)
- Speed controllers (e.g., 2x)
- Transformer (1x)
- Slot cars (e.g., 2x)
- Pit lane section (1x)
- Crossover section (1x)
- Start/finish straight (1x)
- Lane change section (1x)

Programming Cars to the Speed Controller
To code or decode vehicles to their corresponding speed controllers, follow these steps:
- Place the car on the track.
- Press the lane change button on the speed controller twice (refer to Figure 1).
- Lift the car at the front and move it back slightly (refer to Figure 2).
- Press the lane change button on the speed controller twice again (refer to Figure 3).
Programming is confirmed by an audible tone. All settings are saved until new programming is performed.
Important Programming Note: None of the programming steps should exceed 1 second per click.
