Stauer Colossus Hybrid Chronograph Watch Display and Operation
This document provides instructions for operating the Stauer Colossus Hybrid Chronograph watch, including setting analog and digital displays, the daily alarm, and the chronograph functions.
Watch Display Overview
The watch features both analog and digital displays. Key components are:
- A - Chronograph Start/Stop Button
- B - Day of Week and Alarm/Chime Indicator
- C - Crown
- D - Reset Button
- E - Digital Seconds Display
- F - Mode Button
- G - Digital Hour/Minute Display
- H - Light Button
The digital day display (B) shows the day of the week (SU, MO, TU, WE, TH, FR, SA). The digital hour/minute display (G) and digital seconds display (E) show the current time. The analog display shows hours, minutes, and seconds.
Setting the Analog Time
- Pull the crown (C) out to position 1.
- Turn the crown clockwise or counterclockwise to set the desired time.
- Push the crown back into the original position 0.
Setting the Digital Displays
- Press the Mode Button (F) three times to enter digital time-setting mode; the seconds will flash.
- To set minutes: Press the Reset Button (D), then tap the Start/Stop Button (A) to select the minutes. Press Reset Button (D) again to move to hours; the hours will flash.
- To set hours: Tap the Start/Stop Button (A) to select the correct hour (A for AM, P for PM, or military time). Press Reset Button (D) to move to the date; the date will flash.
- To set the date: Tap the Start/Stop Button (A) to select the correct date. Press Reset Button (D) to move to the month; the month will flash. Note: To view the current date in real-time mode, press and hold the Start/Stop Button (A).
- To set the month: Tap the Start/Stop Button (A) to select the month. Press Reset Button (D) to move to the day of the week; the day will flash.
- To set the day of the week: Tap the Start/Stop Button (A) to select the correct day. Press Reset Button (D) to move to the seconds; the seconds will flash.
- To reset the seconds: Tap the Start/Stop Button (A). Press the Mode Button (F) to exit setting mode and return to real-time display.
Setting the Daily Alarm/Chime
- Press the Mode Button (F) twice to enter the Daily Alarm/Chime-setting mode.
- To set the alarm hour: Tap the Start/Stop Button (A) to select the hour. (PM hours are indicated by a small 'P' in the upper left of the display). Press Reset Button (D) to move to minutes; the minutes will flash.
- To set the alarm minutes: Tap the Start/Stop Button (A) to select the minutes. Press the Mode Button (F) to return to real-time mode.
- To turn the alarm on/off: After setting the alarm and returning to real-time mode, press both the Start/Stop Button (A) and Reset Button (D) simultaneously. An alarm symbol (a small bell ?) will appear in the center of the Day of the Week and Alarm/Chime Indicator dial (B) when the alarm is active.
Operating the Chronograph
The chronograph has a display range of 23 hours, 59 minutes, and 59.99 seconds.
- Press the Mode Button (F) once to enter Chronograph function.
- To start the chronograph: Tap the Start/Stop Button (A).
- To stop the chronograph: Tap the Start/Stop Button (A) again.
- To reset the chronograph to zero: Press the Reset Button (D).
- To record split times: Press the Reset Button (D) while the chronograph is running to turn the split timer on and off.
- To exit split time mode: Press the Start/Stop Button (A), then press the Reset Button (D) to display the total of combined split times.
- To reset the split time display to zero: Press the Reset Button (D).
- To exit Chronograph mode: Press the Mode Button (F); the watch will return to real-time mode.
