Bresser BinoSail 7x50 WP Compass Binoculars

The binoculars are designed for outdoor use and feature a built-in compass and distance calculation reticle.

Key Components

  • 1: Individual eyepiece adjustment
  • 2: Rubber eyecup
  • 3: Compass
  • 4: Battery compartment
  • 5: Compass lighting ON/OFF button
  • 6: Rotating distance calculation scale
  • 7: Threaded tripod connection
  • 8: Reticle
  • 9: Swim belt (for the buoy)

Adjusting the Binoculars

Interpupillary Distance: Adjust the angle of the center axis by folding or expanding the binoculars until you achieve a clear field of view.

Focusing: Use the single eyepiece adjustment (1). Look at an object ~100 meters away. Close your left eye and adjust the right eyepiece until sharp. Then close your right eye and adjust the left eyepiece until sharp. This setting requires minimal readjustment for varying distances.

Eyecups for Spectacle Wearers: Reverse the rubber eyecups (2) to maximize the field of view when wearing glasses.

Compass Features

Compass (3): View the 0-360° scale. 360° indicates North, 180° indicates South.

Compass Lighting: Lightly press the ON/OFF button (5) to activate illumination for use in darkness. The light stays on while the button is pressed.

Battery Replacement

Open the battery compartment (4) with a coin. Replace batteries (GP 186), ensuring the positive (+) pole is facing upwards. ✔️

Using the Reticle (8)

The reticle includes scales for distance calculation and size determination.

Distance Calculation:

  • Know the object's size.
  • Aim at the object and measure its image height on the reticle.
  • Example: A 12m high building measures 3.9 on the scale.
  • Rotate the scale ring until the white triangle (A) aligns with 3.9 on the upper scale.
  • The lower scale on the ring shows object size. The known height (12m, B) aligns with 300 on the distance scale (C).
  • Conclusion: The object is 300 meters away.

Determining Size:

  • Know the object's distance.
  • Example: You are 400 meters away.
  • Aim at the object and measure its image height on the reticle (e.g., 3.9 for a 12m building).
  • Rotate the scale ring until the white triangle (A) aligns with 3.9.
  • The distance scale (D) at 400 aligns with the object size scale (E) at 16.
  • Conclusion: The building height is 16 meters.

Cleaning

  1. Remove coarse dust with a brush.
  2. Use a soft, fluff-free cloth for further cleaning.
  3. For stubborn residue, dampen the cloth with standard optical cleaning fluid (available from photography shops). Clean without excessive pressure.

Bresser Waterproof Swim Buoy / Dry Bag

This inflatable waterproof bag is ideal for storing items while swimming and for use as a highly visible buoy.

Key Components

  • 1: Handle
  • 2: Bag
  • 3: Valves
  • 4: Slot for flag
  • 5: Waist belt
  • 6: Rope for diving (20 m)

Safety Warnings

  • This is not a lifesaving device and should only be used by competent swimmers.
  • If you feel weak, dizzy, or experience physical weakness during swimming, stop and rest with the help of the buoy. Continue swimming when you feel better.

Safety: Be visible to boats, jet skis, surfers, and other swimmers. ?

Freedom on the Beach: Carry your belongings in the water; the bag floats behind you, eliminating the need for someone to guard your items on the beach.

Using the Swim Buoy

Step 1: Filling the Bag

Fill the bag with clothing, sandals, shoes, valuables, or other items. For safety, electronics and other moisture-sensitive objects should be stored in an additional waterproof bag.

Step 2: Attach Small Strap

Attach the small strap to the handle.

Step 3: Attach Waist Belt

Attach the waist belt to the strap. This belt is worn around the waist for swimming in open water.

Step 4: Turn Bag Over

Turn the bag over.

Step 5: Fold Opening

Fold the opening over in the direction of the mouthpiece. Fold a total of 4-5 times.

Step 6: Attach Clips

Attach the clips together.

Step 7: Inflate the Bag

Unscrew only the inflation valve (A) (mouthpiece) and inflate the bag. Keep the deflation valve (B) closed. Close the inflation valve (A) as soon as the bag is fully inflated. Check for any leaks. ?

Step 8: Attach Flag

You can now attach the flag.

Step 9: Deflate and Unpack

To deflate, unscrew the deflation valve (B) and press on the bag to release all air. Unfold the bag and remove your belongings.

Disposal

Dispose of packaging materials properly according to their type (e.g., paper, cardboard). Contact your local waste-disposal service or environmental authority for proper disposal information.

Battery Disposal: Batteries and rechargeable batteries must not be disposed of in household waste. Return used batteries to collection points or retail locations as required by law. Batteries containing toxins are marked with symbols: "Cd" for cadmium, "Hg" for mercury, "Pb" for lead. ?❌
