Setup Preparation
Items needed (not included):
- Fresh Batteries:
- 2 (two) AA alkaline or lithium batteries (1.5V) for the weather station.
- 2 (two) AAA alkaline or lithium batteries (1.5V) for the Wireless Outdoor Sensor.
For best results:
- Remove weather station and sensors from the package and place together on a table or bench, within easy reach.
- Place batteries within reach of setup location.
- Keep sensors and weather station 0.15-0.3 meter or 5-10 feet apart for at least 15 minutes after installing batteries, to allow sensors and station to connect repeatedly.
Download Tuya Smart App
Search for "Tuya Smart" or "Smart Life" app on the iOS App Store or Android Google Play. Download and install the app. Register an account, log in, and ensure the weather station is connected to the same Wi-Fi hotspot for pairing.
Quick Setup
- Insert 2 AA batteries into the Wireless Outdoor Sensor and set the channel (e.g., channel 1).
- Plug the power cord into the weather station.
- Pair the weather station with Wi-Fi and server information using the Tuya Smart app prompts.
- Configure basic settings, such as time/date format and units.
- Insert 2 AAA batteries into the weather station (settings are retained if power is lost).
- Move the remote sensor to its desired outdoor location after 5 minutes.
Wi-Fi Pairing
When the weather station is powered on, it should automatically enter pairing mode, indicated by a flashing [Wi-Fi icon] ?.
In the Tuya app:
- Open the app and click the [Add icon] "+" in the upper right corner.
- Select "Add Device". The app will search for nearby devices.
- Click "Add" when the weather forecast device appears.
- Follow the prompts: set Wi-Fi name and password (step 4), wait for the pairing process (step 5), and click "Finish" (step 6) to complete the pairing (step 7).
Note: The Wi-Fi hotspot must be 2.4GHz. This product only supports 2.4GHz wireless networks.
Manual Pairing and Sensor Connection
If the product does not automatically enter pairing mode, press and hold the [Snooze/Light button] for over 3 seconds to enter pairing mode manually. The [Wi-Fi icon] ? will flash.
After successful pairing, the weather station connects to Wi-Fi, updates the network time, and searches for remote wireless sensor signals. The [Wireless icon] ? will blink for about 3 minutes. Once a signal is received, the outdoor temperature and humidity will be displayed.
Outdoor Sensor Transmission
The main unit can connect up to 3 wireless sensors. Ensure each sensor uses a unique channel (1, 2, or 3).
- Press the [Mode button] to switch between displaying different outdoor sensor channels (temperature/humidity).
- If the main unit cannot receive sensor data ("--" is displayed), press and hold the [Set button] for 3 seconds to manually receive transmission. The RF antenna icon will flash, and the base station will re-acquire the signal.
Note: The base station's displayed channel must match the sensor's selected channel. If no signal is received on a channel, "--" will appear.
