4 Managing Food
4.1 Storing Food
WARNING: Fire Hazard! Do not use electrical appliances in the food area unless recommended by the manufacturer.
Note: Energy consumption increases and cooling capacity decreases if ventilation is insufficient. Always keep air vents clear.
Therefore, when storing food, pay attention to the following:
- The air vents on the inner rear wall are clear.
- The air vents on the fan are clear.
- Food is well packaged.
- Food that easily absorbs or emits odors or tastes is kept in closed containers or covered.
- Raw meat or fish is kept in clean, closed containers so that it does not come into contact with other food or drip onto it.
- Liquids are kept in closed containers.
- Food is stored with a gap so that air can circulate.
Note: Failure to observe these guidelines can lead to spoilage of food.
4.1.1 Refrigerator Compartment
Due to natural air circulation, different temperature zones are set.
Food Arrangement:
- In the upper area and in the door: Butter and cheese, canned food and tubes.
- In the coldest zone (Fig. 1 (18)): Perishable foods such as ready meals, meat, and sausages.
- On the lowest shelf: Raw meat or fish.
4.1.2 EasyFresh-Safe
The compartment is suitable for unpackaged food, such as fruits and vegetables.
The relative humidity depends on the moisture content of the inserted product and the frequency of opening. You can regulate the relative humidity.
Food Arrangement:
- Place unpackaged fruits and vegetables.
- Excessive humidity: Regulate the relative humidity (see 7.7 Humidity Control).
4.1.3 Freezer Compartment
Here, a dry, icy climate is created for storage at -18 °C. The icy climate is suitable for storing deep-frozen and frozen foods for several months, making ice cubes, or freezing fresh foods.
Freezing Food
Within 24 hours, you can freeze a maximum amount of fresh food as specified on the type plate (see 9.5 Type Plate) under "Freezing capacity ... kg/24h".
To quickly freeze food to the core, adhere to the following quantities per package:
- Fruits, vegetables up to 1 kg
- Meat up to 2.5 kg
Before freezing, note:
- SuperFrost is activated (see 6.3 Functions) when the freezing quantity exceeds approximately 2 kg.
- For small freezing quantities: SuperFrost activates about 6 hours earlier.
- For maximum freezing quantities: SuperFrost activates about 24 hours earlier.
Food Arrangement:
CAUTION: Danger of injury due to glass shards! Bottles and cans with beverages can burst when frozen. This applies especially to carbonated drinks.
Freeze bottles and cans with beverages only using the BottleTimer function.
- For small freezing quantities: Place packaged food in the upper drawers.
- For maximum freezing quantities: Remove the upper drawers and place packaged food on the upper storage shelves.
- For maximum quantities of frozen products: After SuperFrost automatically deactivates, place food in the drawer.
Defrosting Food
- in the refrigerator
- in the microwave oven
- in the oven/hot air oven
- at room temperature

CONSUMER RIGHTS
Notice on Conformity
Dear Consumers,
Please adhere to the manufacturer's recommendations provided in the user manual regarding transport damage, installation and/or mounting, connection to household installations, proper use, regular cleaning, and maintenance of the appliance.
Consumer legal rights in case of non-conformity of goods with the contract are regulated by Articles 51 and 52 of the Consumer Protection Law.* The seller is responsible for non-conformity of goods with the contract that appears within 2 (two) years from the date of transfer of risk to the consumer. In case of detected non-conformity, you can contact the seller from whom you purchased the goods. The seller is obliged to respond to your complaint without delay, and no later than 8 days from the receipt of the complaint, with a statement on the submitted request and a proposal for its resolution. For establishing and eliminating non-conformity in the shortest possible time, we recommend an authorized service center. For all questions, comments, and suggestions regarding service, you can contact our technical service.
Article 51 - Consumer Protection Law
The seller is responsible for non-conformity of delivered goods with the contract if:
- it existed at the time of transfer of risk to the consumer, regardless of whether the seller knew about such non-conformity;
- it appeared after the transfer of risk to the consumer, if it originates from a cause that existed before the transfer of risk to the consumer;
- the consumer could easily notice it, if the seller stated that the goods conformed to the contract.
The seller is also responsible for non-conformity caused by improper packaging, improper installation or assembly carried out by him or a person under his supervision, as well as when improper installation or assembly of goods is a consequence of a defect in the instructions provided to the consumer for self-installation or assembly. The seller is not responsible for non-conformity if the consumer knew or could not have been unaware at the time of concluding the contract that the goods did not conform to the contract, or if the cause of non-conformity was in the material provided by the consumer. The seller's responsibility for non-conformity of goods with the contract may not be limited or excluded contrary to the provisions of this law. The seller is not bound by a public promise regarding the properties of the goods if:
- he did not know or could not have known about the given promise;
- a correction of the promise was published before the conclusion of the contract;
- the promise could not have influenced the consumer's decision to conclude the contract.
Article 52.
If the delivered goods do not conform to the contract, the consumer who has informed the seller about the non-conformity has the right to demand that the seller eliminate the non-conformity, free of charge, by repair or replacement, or to demand an appropriate reduction in price or to terminate the contract regarding those goods. The consumer has the right to choose whether the seller will eliminate the non-conformity by repair or replacement.
If the elimination of non-conformity in accordance with paragraph 2 of this article is not possible, the consumer has the right to demand an appropriate reduction in price or termination of the contract if:
- the non-conformity cannot be eliminated by repair or replacement at all or within a reasonable time;
- he cannot exercise the right to repair or replacement, or if the seller has not carried out the repair or replacement within a reasonable time;
- repair or replacement cannot be carried out without significant inconvenience to the consumer due to the nature of the goods and their purpose;
- elimination of non-conformity by repair or replacement constitutes a disproportionate burden for the seller.
A disproportionate burden for the seller within the meaning of paragraph 3, item 4) of this article arises if, compared to a price reduction and contract termination, it creates excessive costs, taking into account:
- the value of the goods if they conformed to the contract;
- the significance of the non-conformity in the specific case;
- whether the non-conformity can be eliminated without significant inconvenience to the consumer.
The consumer has the right to demand replacement, an appropriate price reduction, or termination of the contract due to the same or another non-conformity that appears after the first repair, and repeated repair is possible only with the express consent of the consumer. Taking into account the nature of the goods and the purpose for which the consumer acquired them, repair or replacement must be carried out within a reasonable time without significant inconvenience to the consumer and with his consent. If non-conformity appears within six months from the date of transfer of risk to the consumer, the consumer has the right to choose between demanding that the non-conformity be eliminated by replacement, an appropriate price reduction, or stating that he terminates the contract. If non-conformity appears within six months from the date of transfer of risk to the consumer, elimination of non-conformity is possible by repair only with the express consent of the consumer. All costs necessary to make the goods conform to the contract, especially labor, material, collection, and delivery costs, are borne by the seller. For the seller's obligations to the consumer arising from non-conformity of the goods, the seller has the right to demand compensation from the manufacturer in the supply chain for what he has fulfilled based on that obligation. The consumer cannot terminate the contract if the non-conformity of the goods is minor. The rights from paragraph 1 of this article do not affect the consumer's right to demand compensation from the seller for damages resulting from non-conformity of the goods, in accordance with the general rules on liability for damages.
