Causes for high temperature:

  • Warm fresh food placed inside.
  • Excessive warm ambient air flow during rearranging/removing food.
  • Prolonged power outage.
  • Appliance fault.

The audible alarm silences, the alarm symbol [Figure 2 (7)] goes out, and the display stops flashing when the temperature is sufficiently cold again. If the alarm persists, refer to Section 7 Malfunctions.

Note: Food may spoil if the temperature is not cold enough. Check food quality; do not consume spoiled food.

5.3.1 Muting the temperature alarm

The audible alarm can be muted. The alarm function reactivates when the temperature is sufficiently cold again.

  • [instruction] Press alarm button [Figure 2 (6)].
  • The audible alarm is silenced.

5.4 Freezing food

The rating plate indicates the maximum fresh food quantity to freeze within 24 hours ("Freezing capacity ... kg/24h").

  • Each drawer holds a maximum of 25 kg.
  • Each shelf can be loaded with 35 kg.

A vacuum is generated after closing the door. Wait about 1 minute for easier opening.

[CAUTION] Risk of injury due to broken glass! Bottles and cans with drinks may burst when frozen, especially sparkling drinks. Do not freeze bottles and cans with drinks.

Switch on SuperFrost in advance depending on the amount of food:

  • Approx. 6 hours before for smaller amounts.
  • Approx. 24 hours before for maximum amounts.

For rapid freezing to the core, do not exceed quantities per pack:

  • Fruit, vegetables: up to 1 kg
  • Meat: up to 2.5 kg

[instruction] Pack food in freezer bags, reusable plastic, metal, or aluminum containers.

5.5 Thawing food

Thaw food:

  • In the refrigerator compartment.
  • In a microwave oven.
  • In a conventional or fan oven.
  • At room temperature.

[instruction] Remove only the required amount of food. Use thawed food as quickly as possible. Do not refreeze thawed food except in exceptional cases.

5.6 Setting the temperature

Temperature depends on:

  • Frequency of door opening.
  • Duration the door is open.
  • Room temperature.
  • Type, temperature, and quantity of food.

Recommended temperature setting: -18 °C.

The temperature adjusts sequentially. After -28 °C, it restarts at -14 °C.

  • [instruction] Call up temperature function by pressing adjustment button [Figure 2 (3)] once. The current value flashes.
  • [instruction] Change temperature in 1 °C steps by pressing the setting button [Figure 2 (3)] until the desired temperature is shown.
  • [instruction] Change temperature continuously by holding down the setting button.

The new setting is adopted approx. 5 seconds after the last button press. The interior temperature gradually adjusts.

5.7 SuperFrost

This function freezes fresh food quickly to the core by operating at maximum refrigeration. The refrigeration unit may be temporarily louder.

You can freeze the maximum quantity indicated on the type plate ("Freezing capacity ... kg/24hrs"). This quantity can vary by model and climate class.

Activate SuperFrost in advance:

  • Approx. 6 hours before for small amounts of fresh food.
  • Approx. 24 hours before for maximum amounts.

[instruction] Wrap produce and spread it out. Do not let frozen produce touch unfrozen produce.

SuperFrost is not required when:

  • Placing frozen food in the freezer.
  • Freezing up to approx. 2 kg fresh food daily.

5.7.1 Freezing with SuperFrost

  • [instruction] Briefly press the SuperFrost button [Figure 2 (4)] once. The SuperFrost symbol [Figure 2 (5)] illuminates.
  • The freezing temperature drops; the appliance operates at maximum cooling capacity.
  • For smaller quantities: wait approx. 6 hours. Place wrapped produce in the deep bottom drawers.
  • For maximum quantities: wait approx. 24 hours. Remove deep bottom drawers and place produce directly on bottom shelves.
  • SuperFrost deactivates automatically after 65 hours. The SuperFrost symbol [Figure 2 (5)] extinguishes when freezing is complete.
  • [instruction] Place produce in drawers and push them back in. The appliance returns to normal energy-saving mode.

5.8 Drawers

Note: Insufficient ventilation increases energy consumption and reduces cooling performance. Ensure fan air slits on the rear wall are always clear.

To store frozen food directly on shelves: [instruction] Pull the drawer forward and lift it out.

To remove drawers at a 90° door angle: [instruction] As you pull out the drawers, push slightly to the side, then pull them up and out.

[Figure 3: Drawer Removal] The bowl in the well is suitable for storing small, infrequently used parts.
