Introduction to Camera Components
The camera features the following components:
- Lens (Subject Search): The primary lens for capturing images.
- IR Lamp: An auxiliary device for shooting in dark environments.
- IR Lamp Power Button: Used to turn the IR lamp on or off.
- AEL Key: Opens and locks the exposure.
- USB Interface: Connect the data cable here for charging.
- MIC Interface: For connecting an external microphone.
- Viewfinder: Displays previews and allows playback of videos and photos. It supports 90° horizontal/vertical screen rotation.
- 1/4 Standard Screw Hole: The mounting point for a tripod.
- Three-Axis Gimbal: Provides follow-up and stabilization for smooth footage.
- RSThole (RESET Button): Restores the camera to its default settings.
- OK Key: Press to make a selection or restore the lens. Pressing the lens twice rotates it by 180°.
- Four-Way Key: Used for directional control.
Additional controls include:
- Arrow Key: Adjusts zoom; sound can be adjusted during video playback.
- Photo/Video Key: Switches between photo and video modes.
- HDMI Interface: Connects to an external HD cable and TV.
- Micro SD Card Slot: Access point for the memory card.
- Power Key/Mode Key: Turns the camera on/off and enters the mode menu.
? Caution: When connecting an external microphone, a 3.5mm TRS connector must be used.
Charging the Camera
When the camera battery is low, a battery icon ? will appear on the screen, and the camera will shut down automatically.
Charging Process
The battery takes approximately 2.5 hours to fully charge.
? Caution:
- Do not use USB cables not included in the package, as this may lead to malfunctions, overheating, fire, electric shock, or other accidents.
- If the computer is in standby mode while the device is connected for charging, the device may not charge properly.
- Do not operate the camera for extended periods during charging.
- Do not place the camera in confined spaces, such as the optional camera storage bag.
If the red charging light does not illuminate and the device cannot be charged, the cause may be:
- The USB cable is not connected correctly. It is recommended to reconnect it.
- The device's battery is aged or not functioning normally.
Using the Memory Card
Memory Card Standards
- Supports Micro SDXC and Micro SDHC memory cards.
- Expandable up to a maximum of 512GB (U3 class).
- Write speed must reach 90 MB/s.
Inserting/Removing the Memory Card
- Please ensure the device is turned off.
- To Insert: Following the camera component description, open the card slot cover and confirm the correct orientation of the memory card. Insert the memory card straight in. You will hear a click when it is locked.
- To Remove: Lightly press the edge of the memory card, and it will pop out automatically.
Formatting the Memory Card
When inserting the memory card for the first time, find the "Formatting" function in the "System" settings and format it.
? Caution:
- After formatting, all files on the memory card will be deleted to adapt to the camera's structure.
- Do not remove the memory card while the camera is formatting or operating.
- If the camera is using a memory card that has been previously used in other devices, it is essential to format it on the camera.
- It is recommended to use a standard U3 memory card. Memory cards below U3 speed class may not function normally.
Usage
Mode Menu
In preview mode, press the ⚡ (Power/Mode Button) or tap the top-left corner of the screen to access the mode list.

Mode | Description |
---|---|
Video Recording Mode | Records the desired video in HD/SD format and saves it. |
Slow Motion Mode | Records the desired video with optional resolution and in slow motion, then saves it. |
Loop Recording Mode | Records the desired video in segments with a fixed time and saves it. When the memory card is full, the oldest files are automatically overwritten. This function is mainly used for surveillance recording. |
Time-lapse Video Mode | Compresses video recorded over minutes, hours, or even a full day into a short clip. This function is typically used to capture scenes with extremely slow movements, such as a flower blooming. |
Photo Mode | Records the desired photo in HD/SD format and saves it. |
Self-timer Photo Mode | This mode is used for selfies. |
Continuous Shooting Mode | This mode is used for burst shooting. |
Time-lapse Photo Mode | This mode is used for automatic continuous shooting at preset intervals. |
? Caution: Swiping the screen left and right switches between "Photo Mode" and "Video Mode". Other modes are not supported this way.
Video Recording Operation
Adjust the recording subject, press the ? (Video/Photo Button) or tap the screen capture button ⚪ to start recording video.
During Video Recording: You can use the following keys:
- IR Lamp Key: Auxiliary device for shooting in dark environments.
- AEL Key: Locks the current exposure settings.
- Arrow Key: Zooms in or out.
- DISP Key: Press to switch the screen display mode.
- Power Key/Mode Key: Pauses the video recording.
Video Function Menu
In preview mode, tap the empty area of the screen and then the gear icon ⚙️ on the right to open the pop-up menu list. Press the back arrow ↩️ to close the pop-up window.

Duration | When using Time-lapse Video Mode, select the video duration. |
Exposure Compensation | Adjust the image's exposure. |
Timestamp | Add time watermarks to videos (enable/disable). |
Pre-Record | Enable/disable recording 5 seconds before the actual start. |
Metering Mode | Select the metering mode. |
White Balance | Select the white balance setting. |
Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) | Enable/disable Wide Dynamic Range. |
Distortion Correction | Enable/disable video screen distortion correction. |
? Caution:
- The function menu cannot be accessed during video recording.
- Higher resolution results in larger file sizes, consuming more storage space.
- The "Exposure Compensation" function is invalid in environments with low illumination or insufficient visible light.
- Recording in "Slow Motion Mode" and "Time-lapse Video Mode" does not support pausing the video during the recording process.
Photo Recording Operation

System Settings

Connecting to a Computer

- Insert the memory card correctly, then briefly press the ⚡ (Power/Mode Button) to turn on the camera and enter standby mode.
- Use the included USB cable to connect the camera and computer sequentially. The camera will then appear in the function list.
- Select "MSDC" or "USB-Camera".
? Caution:
- When connecting to a desktop computer, please try to use the rear USB ports to avoid insufficient power supply from the front USB ports.
- When connecting the computer, please disable anti-virus software if possible, to prevent the driver program from being mistakenly deleted.
- This function supports Windows 10 / 8.1 / 8 / 7 / Vista / XP and Mac.
APP
Download and Install the APP
The installation steps for the dedicated app "OD Cam" are as follows:
- For Android smartphones, you can download and install the "OD Cam" app via Baidu Mobile Assistant, Huawei AppGallery, or Mi Store.
- For iOS smartphones, you can download and install the "OD Cam" app from the App Store.

? Caution: If a message "Allow APP permissions?" appears during installation on an Android smartphone, please select "Yes" for all permissions.
Connecting via Wi-Fi to a Handy

- Tap the empty space on the screen, then tap the gear icon ⚙️ on the right side of the screen to access the POP-UP function list. In the list, tap the gear icon ⚙️ again to enter System Settings.
- Tap the "Wi-Fi" function and select "On" to enable Wi-Fi, then wait for the connection interface.
- Go to your mobile phone's settings and enable the Wi-Fi function.
- Select the camera's Wi-Fi name (default name: M5-XXXXXX).
- Enter the camera's Wi-Fi password (default password: 12345678).
- Open the installed "OD Cam" app and tap "Connect Device" to enter the app's main interface.
- Tap "Done" on the camera to disconnect the connection.
? Caution:
- The Wi-Fi function will automatically end if it waits for more than one minute.
- This Wi-Fi function provides a limited wireless connection within a limited range, with the longest distance being approximately 6 meters.
- Due to differences in mobile phone brands and configurations, the app's main interface may load slowly or indicate it's not connected to the device. Please try again.

Q1: Can it be used as a wireless webcam?
A: No, the camera can only be connected and used via a USB cable to the computer.
Q2: During video recording, the video is automatically divided into multiple sections. How can these files be merged?
A: You can achieve this by using video merging software for PC. Search on Google for "Boilsoft Video Joiner" and download it. Alternatively, contact the manufacturer ORDRO.
Q3: What system versions and mobile phone models is this app compatible with?
A: The app is compatible with the following operating systems:
Android: Android 5.0, 6.0, 7.0, 8.0, 9.0, 10.0, 11.0, 12.0, 13.0, 14.0, 15.0.
iOS: iOS 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17. Even within compatible systems, the app's stability still depends on the phone's configuration and network status.
Q4: Why does the connection between the Android smartphone and the app constantly fail?
A: After establishing a Wi-Fi connection between the Android smartphone and the app, if a message appears asking "WLAN is not connected to the network, do you want to continue the operation?", please select "Yes".
