Introduction
These release notes provide important information regarding D-Link DXS-3610 Series firmware revisions. Please verify that these release notes are correct for your switch.
New Switch Installation: If you are installing a new switch, please check the hardware version on the device label to ensure your switch meets the system requirements for this firmware version. Refer to the 'Revision History and System Requirement' for a detailed firmware and hardware matrix.
Checking Hardware Version: If the switch is powered on, you can check the hardware version by typing the command “show version” or by checking the device information page on the web graphic user interface.
Upgrade Instructions: If you plan to upgrade to the new firmware release, please refer to the 'Upgrade Instructions' section.
D-Link switches support firmware upgrades via TFTP server. You can download the firmware from the D-Link website http://tsd.dlink.com.tw and copy the downloaded firmware to the TFTP server folder. Ensure the TFTP server is accessible from the switch via the network.

Upgrade Instructions
D-Link switches support firmware upgrade via TFTP server. Download the firmware from http://tsd.dlink.com.tw and place it in the TFTP server folder. Ensure the TFTP server is network-accessible by the switch.
Upgrade using CLI (serial port)
Connect a workstation to the switch console port and use a terminal program that emulates a VT-100 terminal. The default serial port settings are:
- Baud rate: 115200
- Data bits: 8
- Parity: None
- Stop bits: 1
The switch will prompt for a username and password. Initially, no username or password is set.
To upgrade the firmware, use the following commands:

Download firmware file from the TFTP server to the switch. |
boot image flash filename |
Change the boot-up image file. |
show boot |
Display information about the current boot image and configuration. |
reboot |
Reboot the switch. |
Example for Standalone Switch Upgrade:

Upgrading for Switches in a Physical Stack
Use the following commands for stack upgrades:

Configure boot images for all units:

After uploading the firmware to the master switch, it will be pushed to the slave switches. Ensure the new boot image is set on both master and slave switches.
Note: If the new firmware file name is the same as the current running image, manual configuration of the slave's boot image is not required.

Upgrading by using Web-UI
- Connect a workstation with a Java SE runtime environment to a front panel port of the device and connect a console cable to the switch's console port.
- Enter the switch's default IP address,
10.90.90.90
, with subnet mask255.0.0.0
into the browser's address bar and press Enter. - A user authentication window will appear. Leave the 'User Name' and 'Password' fields blank and click 'Login'.
- Navigate to Tools > Firmware Upgrade & Backup > Firmware Upgrade from TFTP. Enter the TFTP Server's IP address and the source and destination file names, then click 'Upgrade'.
- Navigate to Tools > Firmware Upgrade & Backup > Firmware Upgrade from HTTP. Select the switch's unit, click 'Browse' to find the file, specify the destination file name, and click 'Upgrade'.
- To select the boot-up image, navigate to Management > File System.
In the File System window, click the 'c:' hyperlink. The following window will appear:
The File System window displays files. Click the 'Boot Up' button to set a specific runtime image as the boot-up image.
After setting the boot image, reboot the system by navigating to Tool > Reboot System and clicking 'Reboot'. Confirm the reboot if prompted.
