By incorporating D-Link Green technology, this series of switches saves power without sacrificing operational performance. The switches feature built-in smart fans with internal heat sensors that monitor temperature changes and react accordingly by utilizing different fan speeds. At lower temperatures, fans run slower, reducing power consumption and noise. Link status detection drastically reduces power consumption by automatically putting ports without a link into a sleep mode. The DXS-1210 Series incorporates a special chipset with advanced silicon technology for efficient energy use.
Extensive Management and Layer 2 Features
The DXS-1210 Series offers a comprehensive lineup of L2 features, including port mirroring, Spanning Tree Protocol (STP), and Link Aggregation Control Protocol (LACP). Network maintenance features include loopback detection and cable diagnostics. Loopback detection speeds up troubleshooting by automatically detecting and shutting down difficult-to-diagnose switching loops. The cable diagnostic feature helps administrators and customer service representatives determine cable quality and quickly discover errors, allowing for hassle-free diagnostics and maintenance.
Quality of Service and Bandwidth Control
The DXS-1210 Series supports Auto Surveillance VLAN (ASV) and Auto Voice VLAN, ideal for VoIP and video surveillance deployments. ASV consolidates data and surveillance video transmission through a single switch, reducing the need for dedicated hardware. ASV ensures quality real-time video monitoring without compromising conventional network data. Auto Voice VLAN technology enhances VoIP service by automatically placing voice traffic from IP phones into a designated VLAN, guaranteeing quality and security. DSCP markings on Ethernet packets enable different service levels for network traffic, ensuring voice and video packets take precedence. Bandwidth control allows network administrators to reserve bandwidth for critical functions.
Seamless Integration
The DXS-1210 Series features both RJ-45 and SFP+ ports for connecting to Cat. 6 and fiber for 10G Ethernet. Specific models offer varied port configurations:
- DXS-1210-10TS: 8 x 10GBASE-T ports and 2 x SFP+ ports.
- DXS-1210-12TC: 8 x 10GBASE-T ports, 2 x SFP+ ports, and 2 x 10GBASE-T/SFP+ combo ports.
- DXS-1210-12SC: 10 x 10G SFP+ ports and 2 x 10GBASE-T/SFP+ combo ports.

Versatile Management
The DXS-1210 Series includes the D-Link Network Assistant (DNA) utility for simplified configuration of devices supporting the D-Link Discovery Protocol. DNA allows users to discover multiple D-Link Smart Managed Switches on the same L2 network segment and access them instantly without changing their PC's IP address. It also enables simultaneous configuration and basic setup, including password changes and firmware upgrades. The series also supports D-View 7 and a full Command Line Interface (CLI) via console port and Telnet for centralized network management.
Secure Your Network
D-Link's Safeguard Engine™ protects switches against traffic flooding from malicious attacks. The DXS-1210 Series supports 802.1X port-based and host-based authentication via external RADIUS servers. The Access Control List (ACL) feature enhances network security. Address Resolution Protocol (ARP) spoofing prevention protects against attacks that could sniff data frames, modify traffic, or halt traffic by sending fake ARP messages. The switch uses packet control ACLs to block invalid packets with fake ARP messages. DHCP server screening filters DHCP replies on unauthorized ports to prevent IP address assignment.
