Product Overview & Care

The IVAR storage system offers a versatile and customizable solution for organizing various spaces, from homes to offices. Its modular design allows users to adapt it to their specific needs and available space.

Care Instructions

For a durable and easy-care surface, the IVAR system can be treated with oil, wax, varnish, paint, or stain.

Environmental Considerations

The IVAR system is made from renewable wood, sourced responsibly and not from intact natural forests. IKEA has clear requirements for all wood used, including a ban on illegally harvested wood. By 2020, the goal was for all wood to come from more sustainable sources (certified or recycled). The material in this product may be recyclable; check local recycling rules.

Safety Recommendations

To prevent tipping, especially if a child climbs or hangs on the furniture, it is recommended to fix the furniture to the wall using the enclosed safety bracket. Different wall materials require different types of fixing devices; use ones suitable for your home (not included). For higher stability, complete every second section with a cross-brace.

How to Build Your IVAR System

Start by thinking about what you want to store and the space you have available. For the first section, you need two side units, shelves, and a cross-brace. Extend sideways, either at the same height or a different one. For each additional section, you need just one side unit, which you link to the storage solution with shelves or a cabinet. To ensure stability, we recommend that you fit a cross-brace to every other section.
