- Before using the steam function for the first time, allow the iron to operate for a few moments in a horizontal position without contact with laundry. Push the steam button several times.
- During the first few uses, the appliance may produce smoke, a harmless odour, and light particle emission due to manufacturing residues burning off. These are harmless and will disappear quickly.
Preparation
Which water should I use?
- Your appliance is designed for untreated tap water. Periodically clean the steam chamber to remove mineral deposits.
- Do not use pure demineralised or distilled water, water from clothes dryers, scented or softened water, water with additives (starch, perfume, etc.), rainwater, filtered, bottled or boiled water, water from refrigerators, batteries, or air conditioners. These types of water can damage the iron, causing spitting, staining, leaking, or premature wear.
- If your water is very hard, mix 50% untreated tap water with 50% distilled water.
Filling the water tank
- Unplug the iron before filling.
- Set the steam control to STOP ?.
- Lift the iron, holding it at a slight incline with the soleplate up.
- Open the water tank cover.
- Fill the water tank to the “Max” mark.
- Close the water tank cover.
Warning! Do not fill the iron through the scale collector opening. Do not remove the anti-calc collector to fill the tank.
Use
Adjusting the temperature and steam
- Plug in the appliance.
- Set the steam control to STOP ?.
- Adjust the temperature control according to the fabric type:
FABRIC TEMPERATURE CONTROL POSITION LINEN / COTTON / WOOL Max ●● SILK ● SYNTHETIC (Polyester, Acetate, Acrylic, Polyamide) ● - The temperature indicator light turns on and then turns off automatically once the soleplate reaches the desired temperature.
Set the temperature control dial to match the fabric type for optimal results.
Dry ironing
- Set the steam control to STOP ?.
- You can continue ironing when the indicator light turns off.
Getting more steam
- Set the thermostat control to “●●●” (suitable for cotton and linen only).
- Press the turbo steam button periodically (turbo steam). Maintain an interval of a few seconds between presses to avoid water dripping.
Vertical steam ironing
- Hang the item on a hanger and keep the fabric taut. The steam is very hot; never steam iron clothing while it is being worn.
- Set the thermostat control to “●●●”.
- Press the turbo steam button for 1 second, moving the iron from top to bottom.
- Hold the iron a few centimetres from the clothing to avoid burning delicate fabrics.
Dampening clothing (Spray)
- When dry or steam ironing, press the spray button repeatedly to moisten clothing and remove stubborn creases.
- Ensure there is water in the tank before using the spray button.
While ironing
- Do not lay the iron down on the soleplate; use the heel rest.
Auto-Off Function
- If the iron remains unused for more than 8 minutes on the heel rest, or 30 seconds laid flat or on its side, the electronic system will cut power. The iron will stop heating, and the temperature indicator light will flash.
- To restart, move the iron gently until the indicator stops flashing.
Iron Storage and Maintenance
Storing your iron
- Unplug the iron and wait for the soleplate to cool (approx. 1 hour).
- Empty the water tank.
- Set the steam control to STOP ?.
- Wrap the cord around the bottom of the iron's body. Store the iron on its heel rest.
Cleaning the anti-scale collector
- Unplug the iron, empty the water tank, and wait for the soleplate to cool down (approx. 1 hour).
- Once the iron has cooled, raise and turn the tab of the collector to unlock it.
- Remove the collector, which contains limescale.
- Rinse the collector thoroughly in water to remove limescale.
- Reposition the collector and turn the tab a quarter turn to the right to lock it and ensure it is watertight.
Warning! The iron does not work without the anti-calc collector.
Cleaning the anti-scale valve (once per month)
- Unplug your iron and empty the water tank.
- To remove the anti-calc valve, open the water tank cover and pull the valve near the steam control.
- Soak the valve for 4 hours in a glass of water with lemon juice.
- Rinse the valve under the tap.
- Insert the valve, pushing until you hear a click.
Beware! Never touch the end of the valve. The iron will not function without the anti-calc valve.
Descaling the steam chamber (3 times a year)
- Allow your iron to heat up with a full water tank, on its heel rest, with the thermostat control set to “●●” or “●●●” (Linen / Cotton /Wool).
- Once the indicator light turns off, unplug the iron and place it over a sink.
- Remove the anti-calc valve.
- Shake the iron gently in a horizontal position over the sink until water (containing impurities) leaks from the soleplate. You may push the turbo steam trigger to help flush out minerals.
- Replace the anti-calc valve, pushing until you hear a click.
- Plug in your iron for 2 minutes on the heel rest to dry the soleplate.
Cleaning the soleplate
- Unplug your iron and, once cooled, wipe it with a soft cloth.
- Never use chemical or abrasive products.
- During the next use, turn on your iron in a horizontal position without contact with laundry to eliminate any remaining mineral residues in the soleplate.
- Never use chemical or abrasive products.
Is There a Problem With Your Iron?
Water is leaking from the holes in the soleplate.
- Possible Causes: Using steam when the iron is not hot enough; using the turbo steam button too often; storing the iron horizontally without emptying the water tank or setting the steam control to STOP ?.
- Solutions: Wait for the indicator light to turn off; wait a few seconds between each use; see the chapter on «Storing your iron».
The iron leaks at the start of ironing.
- Possible Causes: Removed the anti-calc valve to fill the iron; removed the anti-calc collector to fill the iron; steam control dial not set to STOP ? when filling the water tank.
- Solutions: Do not remove the anti-calc valve or collector when filling; ensure the steam control dial is set to STOP ? when filling the water tank.
A brown discharge coming from the soleplate is staining the clothing.
- Possible Causes: Using chemical descaling agents; not using the right type of water; clothing fibres building up in the soleplate and burning.
- Solutions: Do not introduce descaling agents into the water tank; clean the steam chamber and see the chapter on «What water should I use?»; clean the steam chamber and soleplate with a damp sponge; periodically vacuum the holes in the soleplate.
The soleplate is dirty or brown and may stain clothing.
- Possible Causes: Using starch; laundry not rinsed sufficiently or ironing new clothing before washing.
- Solutions: Clean the soleplate as indicated; spray starch on the reverse side of the clothing; ensure laundry is sufficiently rinsed to eliminate potential soap deposits or chemical products on new items of clothing.
Your iron produces little to no steam.
- Possible Causes: Water tank is empty; anti-calc valve is dirty; iron is clogged with limescale; anti-calc collector is dirty.
- Solutions: Fill the water tank; clean the anti-calc valve; clean the anti-calc valve and steam chamber; clean the anti-calc collector.
The soleplate is scratched or damaged.
- Possible Causes: Placed iron on a metallic iron rest or ironed over metal zips or fasteners.
- Solutions: Always place your iron on its heel rest when not in use; do not iron over metal zips or fasteners.
The iron steams once the water tank has been filled.
- Possible Causes: Steam control dial not set to STOP ?; water tank too full.
- Solutions: Ensure the steam control dial is set to STOP ?; do not exceed the max level for filling.
The spray does not spray water.
- Possible Causes: Water tank is not full enough.
- Solutions: Add water to the water tank.
