Safety Precautions
Important Safety Information:
This product is designed for indoor use only. While designed with safety in mind, electrical products can cause serious accidents if handled improperly. Please observe the following precautions for safe use.
- WARNING: Failure to follow warnings may result in death or serious injury due to fire, electric shock, or other accidents.
- CAUTION: Failure to follow cautions may result in injury or damage to property.
General Precautions:
- If you notice unusual smells, smoke, or abnormal operation, immediately unplug the unit. Continuing to use it may cause fire or electric shock. If you experience any issues, unplug the unit and contact the Blueair Service Center.
- When plugging in the power cord, insert it straight into the outlet until it is fully seated. A loose connection can cause electric shock or fire.
- Periodically remove dust from the power plug and outlet. Accumulated dust can lead to poor insulation due to moisture, causing electric shock or fire.
- When unplugging the power cord, always pull the plug itself, not the cord. Pulling the cord can damage the internal wires, leading to short circuits, electric shock, or fire.
- Use the product at the rated voltage. This product is for use in Japan only. Using it with AC voltage other than the rated voltage can cause fire.
- Keep children away from the product. They may injure themselves or damage the product, leading to accidents.
- Children, individuals with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or those lacking experience and knowledge should not use this product unless supervised by a responsible person who can provide instructions or ensure their safety. Failure to do so may result in injury or accidents.
- Do not place the unit where it can be exposed to water. This may cause fire or electric shock. Also, be careful of pet urine or steam from humidifiers.
- Ensure at least 10cm of space around the unit for proper airflow. Insufficient airflow can lead to overheating and potential fire hazards.
- Place the unit on a stable, level floor. This product is designed for floor placement only. It cannot be hung on a wall or placed on a shelf. If the unit falls, it may cause injury or damage to property.
- Ensure adequate ventilation when using the product near combustion appliances. This product does not ventilate. Carbon monoxide poisoning may occur if combustion appliances are used in poorly ventilated areas.
- Only use genuine Blueair accessories and filters. Using non-genuine parts can lead to malfunctions or accidents due to improper installation.
- Do not attempt to disassemble, modify, or repair the product yourself. The internal components carry high voltage, which can cause electric shock or fire.
- Do not touch the power plug with wet hands. Doing so can cause electric shock.
- Do not pour water on the unit. This may cause fire or electric shock.
- Do not place the unit in areas where flammable gases or liquids are used or stored, or where there is a risk of gas leaks. This could lead to ignition or fire due to gas inhalation.
- If the unit will not be used for an extended period, unplug it from the power outlet. Dust accumulation on the plug can lead to poor insulation due to moisture, causing electric shock or fire.
- Before changing filters, cleaning, or moving the unit, turn off the power and unplug it. Performing these actions while the unit is powered on can cause electric shock or injury.
- Do not use the supplied power cord for anything other than this product. Using it for other purposes can cause fire, electric shock, or malfunction.
- Do not use a power cord other than the one supplied. Using unauthorized cords can cause fire, electric shock, or malfunction.
- Do not unplug the unit while it is operating. This can cause fire, electric shock, or malfunction.
- Do not put stress on the power cord or plug (e.g., by bending, twisting, cutting, placing heavy objects on it, or allowing pets to chew on it). Damaging the cord or plug can lead to electric shock, fire, or short circuits.
- Keep the power cord and plug away from heat sources. This can cause electric shock or fire.
- Do not overload electrical outlets by using multiple appliances on a single outlet (daisy-chaining). This can overstress the power cord and plug, leading to electric shock or fire.
- Do not insert fingers or foreign objects into the air inlets, outlets, or any gaps in the unit. This can cause electric shock, injury, or malfunction.
- Keep flammable materials such as hairspray, insecticides, lit cigarettes, incense, benzine, or thinner away from the unit. These can cause ignition or fire.
- Do not use organic solvents (benzine, thinner, alcohol, gasoline, etc.) for cleaning. This can cause malfunction.
- If the power cord is damaged, do not continue to use the unit or attempt to repair it yourself. Unplug the unit immediately and contact the Blueair Service Center.
- Do not place the unit in humid or wet environments, such as bathrooms, or where it may be exposed to water. This may cause fire or electric shock.
- Do not place the unit where it will directly blow air onto plants or pets. Prolonged exposure to airflow can cause drying.
- Do not block the air inlets or outlets with curtains or laundry. This can lead to overheating and potential fire hazards.
- Do not operate the unit when using aerosol or mist-type insecticides. Residual chemicals may be released from the outlet, posing a health risk. Ensure adequate ventilation after using insecticides before operating the unit.
- Do not sit on, lean on, tilt, or place objects on the unit. This can cause it to fall, leading to injury or malfunction.
- When moving the unit, do not hold onto parts that can detach. This can cause it to fall, leading to injury or malfunction.
- Do not operate the unit with the filter removed or with the protective film still attached. This will reduce dust collection efficiency and may cause malfunction.
Usage Precautions
- Replace the main filter when the filter replacement indicator light turns on. Failure to replace the filter will reduce dust collection efficiency and may cause malfunction. The replacement interval varies depending on usage and air quality. Refer to the "Filter Replacement" section for details.
- Only use genuine Blueair replacement parts and filters. Using non-genuine parts may cause malfunction, and any resulting damage will not be covered by the warranty.
- Do not wash the filter with water. This will reduce its dust collection efficiency.
- Do not place the unit in direct sunlight. This may cause discoloration.
- Do not operate the unit with the filter removed or with the protective film still attached. This will reduce dust collection efficiency and may cause malfunction.
- Do not place the unit near heat sources such as heaters or hot objects. This may cause discoloration.
- Keep windows and doors closed while the unit is operating to maximize efficiency.
