Qlima RG10 Remote Control Manual

Introduction

This manual provides instructions for operating the Qlima RG10 remote control for your air conditioner. It covers basic functions, advanced functions, and troubleshooting.

Rated Voltage: 3.0V (Dry batteries R03/LR03x2)

Signal Receiving Range: 8m

Environment: -5°C ~ 60°C

Quick Start Guide

  1. Fit Batteries
  2. Select Mode
  3. Select Temperature
  4. Select Fan Speed
  5. Point Remote Towards Unit
  6. Press Power Button

Note: Button designs may differ slightly. If the indoor unit does not have a particular function, pressing that button on the remote will have no effect.

Handling the Remote Controller

Inserting and Replacing Batteries

Your air conditioning unit may come with two batteries. Insert the batteries before use.

  1. Slide the back cover down to expose the battery compartment.
  2. Insert batteries, matching (+) and (-) ends with the symbols inside.
  3. Slide the battery cover back into place.

Battery Notes

  • For optimum performance, do not mix old and new batteries, or batteries of different types.
  • Remove batteries if the device will not be used for more than 2 months.

Battery Disposal

Do not dispose of batteries as unsorted municipal waste. Refer to local laws for proper disposal.

Tips for Using Remote Control

  • Use within 8 meters of the unit.
  • The unit beeps when a signal is received.
  • Curtains, materials, and direct sunlight can interfere with the infrared receiver.
  • Remove batteries if not used for more than 2 months.

Buttons and Functions

Familiarize yourself with the remote control buttons:

1. ON/OFF
Turns the unit on or off.
2. TEMP ▲
Increases temperature by 1°C increments. Max: 30°C. (Press TEMP ▲ and TEMP ▼ for 3 seconds to toggle °C/°F display).
3. SET
Scrolls through functions: Fresh > Follow Me > AP mode > Self clean. Selected symbol flashes; press OK to confirm.
4. TEMP ▼
Decreases temperature by 1°C increments. Min: 16°C.
5. FAN SPEED
Selects fan speed: AUTO > LOW > MED > HIGH. (Hold for 2 seconds for Silence function).
6. SWING
Starts/stops horizontal louver movement. (Hold for 2 seconds for vertical auto swing).
7. MODE
Scrolls through modes: AUTO > COOL > DRY > HEAT > FAN. (HEAT mode may not be supported by cooling-only units).
8. SLEEP
Energy saving mode for sleeping hours.
9. OK
Confirms selected functions.
10. TIMER
Sets timer to turn unit on or off.
11. SHORTCUT
Restores current or previous settings.
12. CLEAN
Starts/stops Self Clean or Active Clean function.
13. LED
Turns indoor unit LED display and buzzer on/off for a comfortable environment.
14. TURBO
Enables unit to reach preset temperature quickly.

Remote Screen Indicators

Information displayed when the remote is powered on:

  • Feature Displays: Fresh, Sleep, Follow Me, Wireless Control, Low Battery (flashing).
  • Transmission Indicator: Lights up when sending a signal.
  • Timer Indicators: ON (TIMER ON), OFF (TIMER OFF).
  • Silence Indicator: Displays Silence function status.
  • FAN SPEED: Displays selected speed (AUTO, LOW, MED, HIGH). Note: Not adjustable in AUTO or DRY modes.
  • MODE: Displays current mode (AUTO, COOL, DRY, HEAT, FAN).
  • ECO Indicator: Displays when ECO function is active.
  • LOCK Indicator: Displays when LOCK function is active.
  • Temperature/Timer/Fan Speed Display: Shows set temperature, fan speed, or timer setting.

Note: Indicators are for clarity; only active function signs appear during operation.

How to Use Basic Functions

Basic Operation

Ensure the unit is plugged in and powered on.

Setting Temperature

Temperature range: 16-30°C / 20-28°C. Adjust in 1°C increments.

AUTO Mode

The unit automatically selects COOL, FAN, or HEAT based on the set temperature.

  1. Press MODE to select AUTO.
  2. Set temperature using TEMP ▲ or ▼.
  3. Press ON/OFF to start.

Note: FAN SPEED cannot be set in AUTO mode.

COOL Mode

  1. Press MODE to select COOL.
  2. Set temperature using TEMP ▲ or ▼.
  3. Press FAN to select speed: AUTO, LOW, MED, HIGH.
  4. Press ON/OFF to start.

DRY Mode (Dehumidifying)

  1. Press MODE to select DRY.
  2. Set temperature using TEMP ▲ or ▼.
  3. Press ON/OFF to start.

Note: FAN SPEED cannot be changed in DRY mode.

Basic Functions (Continued)

FAN Mode

  1. Press MODE to select FAN.
  2. Press FAN to select speed: AUTO, LOW, MED, HIGH.
  3. Press ON/OFF to start.

Note: Temperature cannot be set in FAN mode. The LCD screen will not display temperature.

HEAT Mode

  1. Press MODE to select HEAT.
  2. Set temperature using TEMP ▲ or ▼.
  3. Press FAN to select speed: AUTO, LOW, MED, HIGH.
  4. Press ON/OFF to start.

Note: Performance may be affected by low outdoor temperatures. Consider using with other heating appliances.

Setting the Timer

TIMER ON/OFF: Set the time for automatic on/off.

TIMER ON Setting

  1. Press TIMER to start the ON sequence.
  2. Use TEMP ▲ or ▼ to set the desired ON time.
  3. Point remote at unit and wait 1 sec; TIMER ON activates.

TIMER OFF Setting

  1. Press TIMER to start the OFF sequence.
  2. Use TEMP ▲ or ▼ to set the desired OFF time.
  3. Point remote at unit and wait 1 sec; TIMER OFF activates.

Note on Timer Settings: Time increases in 30-min increments up to 10 hours, then 1-hour increments up to 24 hours. Timer resets to 0.0 after 24 hours. Cancel by setting timer to 0.0h.

TIMER ON & OFF Setting Example

Time periods refer to hours after the current time.

Example: If current time is 1:00 PM, setting the timer as shown will turn the unit on at 3:30 PM (2.5 hours later) and off at 6:00 PM (5 hours later).

How to Use Advanced Functions

SWING Function

Press the Swing button.

  • The horizontal louver swings automatically. Press again to stop.
  • Hold for over 2 seconds for vertical auto swing (model dependent).

LED DISPLAY

Press the LED button to turn the indoor unit display and buzzer on/off.

Hold for over 5 seconds (some units): Displays actual room temperature. Press again to revert to set temperature.

ECO Function

Press ECO for energy-efficient mode. (Only available in COOL mode).

ECO Operation: In COOL mode, the remote automatically adjusts temperature to 24°C and fan speed to Auto for energy saving (if set temp is below 24°C). If set temp is above 24°C, fan speed goes to Auto, temperature remains unchanged.

Note: Pressing ECO, changing mode, or setting temp below 24°C stops ECO operation. For ECO mode, set temp should be 24°C or higher for adequate cooling. If uncomfortable, press ECO again to stop.

Silence Function

Hold FAN button for over 2 seconds to activate/disable Silence function. Low frequency compressor operation may result in insufficient cooling/heating. Pressing ON/OFF, Mode, Sleep, Turbo, or Clean cancels Silence.

FP Function

Unit operates at high fan speed with temperature set to 8°C. (For heat pump air conditioners only).

Press twice within one second in HEAT mode and set temp to 16°C or 20°C to activate FP. Pressing ON/OFF, Sleep, Mode, Fan, Temp cancels this function.

LOCK Function

Hold CLEAN and TURBO simultaneously for over 5 seconds to activate lock. All buttons become unresponsive until these two buttons are pressed again for 2 seconds to disable.

SHORTCUT Function

Press SHORTCUT button (some units). Restores previous settings (mode, temp, fan speed, sleep). Holding for over 2 seconds restores current operation settings.

CLEAN Function

Press CLEAN. Helps clean the unit by evaporating condensation. Unit turns off automatically after cleaning. Pressing CLEAN mid-cycle cancels operation and turns off the unit. Can be used anytime. Note: Only available in COOL or DRY mode.

TURBO Function

Press TURBO. In COOL mode, blows cool air at highest fan speed to speed up cooling. In HEAT mode (with electric heaters), activates electric HEATER to speed up heating.

SET Function

Press SET to enter function settings. Use SET or TEMP ▲/▼ to select desired function. Symbol flashes; press OK to confirm. To cancel, repeat steps. Press SET to scroll functions: Fresh, Sleep, Follow Me, AP mode. (If Fresh/Sleep buttons exist, SET cannot select them).

FRESH Function (Some Units)

Activates ion generator to purify air.

SLEEP Function

Reduces energy use during sleep. Does not require the same temperature settings for comfort. Activated via remote only. Not available in FAN or DRY modes.

AP Function (Some Units)

For wireless network configuration. If SET button doesn't work, press LED button 7 times in 10 seconds to enter AP mode.

FOLLOW ME Function

Remote measures ambient temperature every 3 minutes and sends it to the air conditioner. Optimizes temperature around you for maximum comfort in AUTO, COOL, or HEAT modes.

Note: Hold TURBO for 7 seconds to start/stop Follow Me memory feature. 'On' or 'Off' displays for 3 seconds. Memory feature is not cancelled by ON/OFF, mode change, or power failure.
