A. Safety Instructions

Read this user manual carefully before using the appliance and keep it for future reference. Install this appliance only if it complies with local and national legislation, ordinances, and standards. This product has been designed for use as an air conditioner in residential homes, and it should only be used in dry places, under normal domestic conditions, indoors, in a living room, kitchen, or garage.

Before plugging in the appliance, check if:

• the connection voltage is the same as that indicated on the rating plate;
• the outlet and current supply are suitable for the appliance;
• the electrical plug fits well into the socket;
• the appliance is placed on a flat and stable surface.

If you are unsure that everything is in order, have the electrical installation checked by a professional.

• This appliance is manufactured according to CE safety standards. However, be careful when using it, as with any other electrical appliance.
• Never cover the air inlet and outlet grilles.
• Before moving the appliance, empty the water tank through the opening provided for this purpose.
• Never put the appliance in contact with chemical products.
• Do not insert any objects into the openings of the appliance.
• To avoid any risk of short-circuit, NEVER put the appliance in contact with water. Do not spray or immerse it in water.
• Always unplug the appliance before cleaning or changing a part.
• NEVER plug the appliance into an extension cord. If you do not have a grounded power outlet, have the installation done by a recognized electrician.
• As with all electrical appliances, be careful and attentive when children are near the appliance.
• If any repair is necessary (other than maintenance activities), have it performed by an approved technician or your distributor. Otherwise, you risk voiding your warranty.
• Always unplug the appliance when not in use.
• If the appliance's power cord is damaged, always have it replaced by your distributor, after-sales service, or an approved technician.
• This appliance is not designed for users (including children) with motor, mental, or sensory disabilities, or who lack experience and knowledge, unless they are supervised by a person responsible for their safety.
• Supervise children present; they must not play with the appliance under any circumstances.
• This appliance can be used by children over 8 years old and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge; provided they have been given supervision or instructions concerning the safe use of the appliance and understand the potential hazards.
• Do not let children play with the appliance.
• Children should not be responsible for cleaning and maintenance of the appliance unless supervised.

Specific information concerning R290 / R32 refrigerant appliances.

• Read all warnings carefully.
• When defrosting and cleaning the appliance, do not use tools other than those recommended by the manufacturer.
• The appliance must be placed in an area without continuous ignition sources (e.g., open flames, gas appliances, or operating electrical appliances).
• Do not puncture or burn the circuit.
• This appliance contains Y g (see label on the back of the appliance) of R290 / R32 refrigerant gas.
• R290 / R32 fluid is a refrigerant gas compliant with European environmental directives. Do not puncture any part of the refrigeration circuit. Refrigerants can be odorless.
• If the appliance is installed, used, or stored in an unventilated area, the room must be designed to prevent the accumulation of refrigerant leaks, which would lead to a risk of fire or explosion due to the ignition of the refrigerant fluid caused by electric heaters, stoves, or other ignition sources.
• The appliance must be stored in a way that prevents mechanical failures.
• Persons operating or working on the refrigeration circuit must possess the appropriate certification issued by an accredited body for the handling of refrigerants according to a specific industry association assessment.
• Repairs must be carried out according to the manufacturer's recommendations.

Maintenance and repairs requiring intervention by other qualified personnel must be carried out under the supervision of a person specialized in the use of flammable refrigerants.

Repair Instructions for R290 / R32 Appliances

1. General Guidelines

This instruction manual is intended for persons with adequate experience in electricity, electronics, refrigeration, and mechanics.

1.1 Work Area Checks

Before undertaking any work on systems containing flammable refrigerants, safety checks must be carried out to ensure that the risk of ignition is minimized. For refrigeration system repair, the following precautions must be observed before performing any work on the system.

1.2 Work Method

Work must be undertaken in a controlled manner to minimize the risk associated with the presence of flammable gas or vapor during the execution of work procedures.

1.3 Work Area

All maintenance personnel and other persons working in the local area must receive specific instructions regarding the nature of the work performed. Work in confined spaces must be avoided. The area around a work area must be delimited. Ensure that conditions in the area have been secured by controlling flammable materials.

1.4 Checking for Refrigerant Presence

The area must be checked with an appropriate refrigerant detector before and during the activity to ensure that the technician is aware of potentially flammable atmospheres. Ensure that the leak detection equipment used is suitable for use with flammable refrigerants, i.e., non-conforming products, correctly sealed, or intrinsically safe.

1.5 Presence of Fire Extinguishers

If hot work is to be undertaken on refrigeration equipment or any related part, a fire extinguisher must be made available. Have a dry powder or CO₂ extinguisher adjacent to the charging area.

1.6 No Ignition Sources

No person performing work related to a refrigeration system, which involves exposing any piping containing or having contained flammable refrigerant, shall use any ignition source in such a way as to cause a risk of fire or explosion. All possible ignition sources, including smoking, should be kept away from the installation, repair, removal, and disposal site during which flammable refrigerant may potentially be released into the surrounding space. Before starting work, the area around the equipment must be monitored to ensure there is no flammable hazard or risk of ignition.
