Terminals (Torque, wire gauge & type ratings)
- Mains wiring: 5.0 in-lbs (0.6 N•m) for 16-10 AWG (1.0-4.0 mm²) wire.
- Zone Wiring: 5.0 in-lbs (0.6 N•m) for 16-10 AWG (1.0-4.0 mm²) wire.
- CCI Wiring: 5.0 in-lbs (0.6 N•m) for 20-10 AWG (0.5-4.0 mm²) wire.

- QS link Power: 5.0 in-lbs (0.6 N•m) for 20-10 AWG (0.5-4.0 mm²) wire.
- QS link Data: 5.0 in-lbs (0.6 N•m) for 22-18 AWG (0.34-0.75 mm²) twisted, shielded pair.
HomeWorks QS Wallstations
HomeWorks QS wallstations can be configured to control Power Modules using the HomeWorks QS programming utility. An LED indicator displays the status of programmed lights.
QS Link Limits
A QS link in a HomeWorks QS system supports up to 512 zones (outputs) and 100 devices. Each 0-10V power module counts as one device towards the 100-device limit and up to 4 zones towards the 512-zone limit.
Manual Mode Operation
- Zone buttons: Select the zone to control.
- Raise/Lower buttons: Turn loads on and off, and dim loads up and down. (Note: Program, Input, and Option buttons are not used in LQSE models.)
Contact Closure Input (CCI)
The CCI functions as a Manual Override Contact Closure Input. When the CCI is open, the Power Module enters Manual Override Mode, turning on all loads and disabling other controls. When the CCI is closed or jumpered (factory default), zones return to their previous settings. The CCI is a local control and cannot affect other units over the QS link. A maximum of 32 units can be connected in parallel to a Manual Override device. The input is normally closed (NC) and ships with a jumper wire. If no manual override is needed, leave the jumper in place.
Mounting
- BTUs/hour when fully loaded: 8.5 BTU.
- Mount in a Lutron DIN panel (see spec 3691055 at www.lutron.com), NEMA type 1, IP20 (minimum) rated consumer or breaker panel with integrated DIN rail.
- Width: 9 DIN modules - 6.36 in (161.7 mm).
- Refer to Lutron App Note 048466 at www.lutron.com for detailed mounting and installation information in panels with integrated DIN rail.
Mechanical Dimensions
Diagrams show the physical dimensions of the LQSE-4T5-120-D module, including width, height, and depth, with measurements in both inches and millimeters.
Overview of Wiring Terminals
Diagrams illustrate the terminal layout for Mains Wiring, NEC® Class 2 wiring, 0-10V Channels, and the QS Link. Key terminals include COM, MUX, and zone connections.
Mains Voltage Wiring
WARNING: Shock Hazard. Ensure power is turned off before servicing or installation. Follow all local and national codes. This product should be installed by a qualified electrician.
- Wiring from Distribution to Power Module Unit: Turn off all circuit breakers feeding the unit. Run line/hot, neutral, and earth wires from a 120V~ 50/60 Hz feed to the module.
- Mains Wiring: Units are packaged with Terminal Blocks for easy single or multi-feed installation. Follow all applicable codes.
- Behavior During Power Failure: Relays maintain their state when power is lost. 0-10V outputs return to their previous setting after a power failure.
Single-Feed Wiring Diagram
Illustrates the connection of mains/hot and neutral wires from the distribution panel to the power module, including jumpers.
Multi-Feed Wiring Diagram
Illustrates the connection of mains/hot and neutral wires from multiple sources to the power module, including jumper removal instructions.
Wiring: 0-10V===
- 0-10V zones 1-4 are double insulated from line voltage and the QS link but share a common terminal (negative).
- Do not mix NEC® Class 2 circuits with non-NEC® Class 2 circuits for 0-10V zones.
- Follow all national and local electrical codes for separation requirements.
Wiring: Manual Override Contact Closure Input
- Contact Closure Input (CCI) wiring is NEC® Class 2. Follow all applicable codes for circuit separation and protection.
- In Manual Override mode, all drivers and zone outputs are set to the programmed Manual Override light level (default 100%), and other controls are locked out.
- The CCI is a local control and cannot affect other units over the QS link. Up to 32 units can be connected in parallel to a Manual Override device.
- The manual override contact closure input is normally closed (NC) and ships with a jumper wire. Leave the jumper in place if no manual override contact input is required.
Wiring: QS Link
- QS link wiring is NEC® Class 2. Follow all applicable national and local codes for proper circuit separation and protection.
- Wiring may be daisy-chained or T-tapped.
- Do NOT connect terminal 2.
QS Link Wiring Options
A table details QS Link wiring options based on control link length, specifying wire gauge for power and data terminals, and available Lutron cables (e.g., GRX-CBL-346S, GRX-CBL-46L). An alternate data-only cable option is also mentioned.
