HomeWorks System Capacities

Maximum 16 processors

Definitions:

Device: Any system component requiring a single address. The processor reserves one address per link. Four addresses are reserved for hybrid repeaters on the wireless link.
Zone: An output, such as an individual shade or a DPM/RPM/QSG/contact closure output. For example, a GRAFIK Eye QS can have up to six zones.

Key - Wiring

This key describes the wiring types used in the system:

Processor and network link (Ethernet): Standard Ethernet wiring.
QS wired link*: Uses GRX-CBL346S-500 cable, consisting of two pairs: one pair of 1.0mm² and one pair of 0.5–1.0mm² twisted shielded conductors. Pin-out: pin 1 - common, pin 2 - VDC, pin 3 - MUX, pin 4 - MUX.
Wireless link*: Implies wireless communication.
RS-232/RS-485: Standard serial communication wiring.
Palladiom HVAC Controller (3 conductor): Specific wiring for HVAC control.
Shade wiring (4 conductor)**: Used for shade power conductors. The required wire gauge depends on shade size, number, wire run length, and power supply type. Consult shade equipment technical specifications.
Shade wiring (2 conductor)**: Used for shade power conductors.

Key - Power

This key identifies different power sources:

[5] Battery powered

HomeWorks Processor

The central processing unit for the HomeWorks system.

Processor link: Features 2 RJ-45 Ethernet ports with a built-in switch for daisy-chaining processors. (HQP6-1 has 1 RS-45 port).
Configurable links (RS-485)*: Supports QS wired link, Wireless link, and Panel link.
Legacy links (Requires software link license): Supports GRX/WPM, HWI Keypads, and Q96/QED Shade Drives.
No RS-232 port.
Powered by 24VDC.
Mounts in a low-voltage enclosure.

*HQP6-2 offers two configurable links; HQP6-1 offers one configurable link.

Network Link

Connects processors to the network for control and integration.

Uses standard Ethernet wiring with a maximum length of 100 meters.
Supports 10/100 Mbit Ethernet.
Components shown connecting to the network include: Home network router, Lutron Designer (design and programming utility), Internet, Third-party integration, Lutron Connect app (Apple®, Android™), Lutron Connect Bridge, and a Heatmiser Ethernet converter.

Panel Link

Manages devices and zones within specific panels.

Supports 100 devices per link (includes repeaters).
Supports 512 zones per link.
Supports a maximum wire length of 600 meters (subject to other applicable rules).
Supports free-wire topology (star, daisy chain, home run, etc.).
Uses standard Lutron 4 conductor cable.
Supports 16 MIs/SPIs per link.
Supports 256 zones per link.
Components shown include: Remote power panel with breakers, PNL-5 (remote power feedthrough panel), QS 10-output power panel, QSPS-30 output power panel, and Flush-mounted power supply.

QS Wired Link

Provides wired connectivity for various system components.

Supports up to 100 devices per link (includes repeaters).
Supports up to 100 zones per link.
Supports up to 4 repeaters per link.
RF distance: 18m from repeater to repeater, 9m from device to repeater.
Supports 16 MIs/SPIs per link.
Supports 256 zones per link.
Supported Interfaces/Protocols: 0–10V, DALI, Switching*, Motor control, EcoSystem, CCO/CCI, DMX 512, WCI.

- Power Supplies/Panels: QS 10-output power panel, QSPS-30 output power panel, 12V Panel, Flush-mounted power supply (multiple instances).
- Interfaces/Modules: RF Softswitch module, RF 0–10V module, RF contact closure output module.
