Spacing for Recessed or Closet Installation
Diagram illustrating recommended clearances for installing the washer in a recessed area or closet.
The diagram shows recommended spacing, with the exception of closet door ventilation openings which are minimum requirements. This washer has been tested for installation with 0" (0 mm) clearance on the sides. Consider allowing more space for easier installation and servicing, as well as space for companion appliances and clearances for walls, doors, and floor moldings. Add 1" (25 mm) of space on all sides of the washer to reduce noise transfer. If a closet door or louvered door is installed, top and bottom air openings in the door are required.
- Recommended side clearance: 1" (25 mm)
- Recommended clearance from back of washer to wall: 5" (126 mm)
- Maximum depth for installation in a closet: 14" (356 mm)
- Closet ventilation requirements: 48 sq in (310 cm²) at the top and 24 sq in (155 cm²) at the bottom.
