Product Overview
The Scosche GM1483 and GM1484 are in-dash installation kits designed for select 1995-2003 Chevrolet, GMC, and Cadillac full-size trucks and vans. These kits facilitate the installation of aftermarket car stereo systems.
The diagram illustrates the Scosche GM1483 and GM1484 installation kits. The GM1483 kit is shown with 'SNAP SHAFT TABS' and an 'ACCESSORY/ EQUALIZER PROVISION'. The GM1484 kit, labeled 'EQ KIT', is shown with an 'EQUALIZER (Not included)'.

CAUTION
Disconnect your vehicle's negative battery terminal before installation to prevent electrical damage. It is recommended to use a Volt/Ohm meter over a test light to check wiring, as a test light or grounded wire probe can damage the vehicle's computer and/or diagnostic systems. Avoid all factory airbag wiring, as accidental deployment can cause serious injury or death.
NOTES

- Read all instructions accompanying your car stereo/cassette player for proper wiring and mounting procedures.
Stereo Installation
Install the GM1483/GM1984 kit in the dash by carefully lining up the grooves in the radio cavity of the dash, then slide the kit back until the brackets "snap" into place.
1996-02 Chevrolet Astro Van / 1996-02 GMC Safari Van
RADIO REMOVAL:
- Extract two T-30 torx bolts, one from each side of the top console area, and pop out the top half of the center console assembly.
- Extract two 9/32" hex screws from the bottom edge of the driver's side under dash panel and one screw from the left dash below the defroster vent.
- Carefully pry the underdash panel out to release it. Use caution when handling the parking brake release cable to release spring clips, unplug connectors, and remove the panel.
- Insert the key into the ignition to the "on" position, adjust the shifter down to low gear, and pull outward on the instrument/radio panel to release clips. Unplug switches and remove the panel.
- Push down on the side tabs securing the radio, slide it out of the dash, unplug connectors, and remove the radio.

1996-00 Chevrolet Express Van / 1996-02 GMC Savannah
RADIO REMOVAL:
- Carefully pull out the dash instrument/radio dash bezel to release spring clips. Unplug connectors and remove the panel.
- Compress the two plastic side radio mounting clips, slide the radio out of the dash, unplug connectors, and remove the radio.

RADIO REMOVAL:
- Engage the parking brake.
- Place the key in the ignition and depress the brake pedal to shift the vehicle into the lowest gear. This will move the gear shift out of the way.
- Carefully pull out the dash instrument/radio dash bezel to release spring clips. Unplug connectors and remove the panel.
- Compress the two plastic side radio mounting clips, slide the radio out of the dash, unplug connectors, and remove the radio.

NOTE: It is recommended to use the Scosche GM02 factory connector and the MDA-1 antenna adapter to eliminate the need to cut any of the factory plugs.
