Before First Use
Getting Started
- Carefully remove the steamer from the package, ensuring all parts are free of visible damage. Remove all protective packaging material.
- Remove and save the instruction manual.
- Wipe the outside of the steamer with a damp cloth or sponge to remove dust, then dry thoroughly.
- When using the steamer for the first time, a small amount of smoke and a slight odor may be noticed. This is normal during the initial heating process.
Important Notes
- Using distilled, purified, or filtered water is highly recommended for optimal performance. Tap water contains minerals that can build up over time.
- Any water droplets visible inside the tank upon unpacking are from individual quality control tests.
- Do not use perfumes, oils, or other additives in the water tank.
- Always review the garment manufacturer's care label instructions before steaming. Test fabrics for colorfastness in inconspicuous areas (e.g., an inseam). Steamers are not recommended for use on leather, suede, vinyl, plastic, or other steam-sensitive fabrics.
- The steamer will become hot during use; avoid touching the steam head while hot.
- After preheating, press and hold the steam button to steam fabrics.
- It is normal to feel or hear the water pump in the handle.
- The water pump may become louder when the water level is low. Check and refill the tank as needed.
Operation Instructions
Filling the Water Tank
- Hold the handle to stabilize the steamer. Rotate the removable water tank counterclockwise with the other hand to detach it.
- Gently pull out the rubber water tank cover at the top of the tank.
- Pour water into the opening and then close the rubber cover securely.
Tip: Using distilled, purified, or filtered water is highly recommended and will reduce mineral buildup. Do not use oils, perfumes, or scented additives.
Diagram Description: A sequence of illustrations shows the steps for filling the water tank: detaching the tank, opening the cover, and filling with water.
Dry off any excess water from the tank, press the water tank back into place, and secure it by turning clockwise.
Note: The steam test is conducted before shipping, so water droplets in the tank are normal and do not indicate a used product.
Using the Steamer
- Read the manufacturer's fabric label to ensure fabrics are suitable for steaming.
- Hang the garment in an area that will not be affected by heat and steam, such as on a shower rod.
- This steamer is anti-dripping and can be used horizontally to steam garments on an ironing board.
- Plug the steamer into the outlet. The indicator light will turn white and flash, indicating the steamer is heating.
- Once the indicator light is solid white (indicating it has reached operating temperature), proceed to steam.
Diagram Description: An illustration shows the indicator light turning solid white.
Steaming Methods
- Usage Method 1: To generate steam, press and hold the steam button. Steam will be emitted. Release the steam button to stop spraying.
- Usage Method 2: Double-click the steam button to eject steam automatically. Double-click again to stop the ejection.
Diagram Description: Two sets of illustrations show the two usage methods: one with a "Press down" action on the button, and another with a "double-click" action on the button.
Note: Please press the steam button only after the white indicator light is solid on; otherwise, it may cause the steamer to leak.
- Use your free hand to keep the fabric taut and stretched. Steam the garment with slow downward strokes, keeping the head of the steamer in contact with the fabric.
- It is normal to feel or hear the pump in the handle.
- When finished steaming, release the steam button and unplug the steamer from the socket.
- Allow the steamer to cool completely before storing. To avoid mineral buildup, empty the water tank after each use.
Accessories
Fabric Brush
The fabric brush is used for removing lint, pet hair, dust, and dander from garments like overcoats and down jackets.
- To Attach: While the brush and steamer are cool, align the fabric brush to the steam head and lock it into position.
- To Remove: Allow the steamer to cool prior to removing the brush. Place your finger under the pointed tip and lift it up.
Diagram Description: Illustrations show the process of attaching the fabric brush to the steam head and then removing it.
Cleaning
Cleaning the Steamer Exterior
- Ensure the steamer is unplugged and completely cool.
- Wipe the ironing plate and outer surface with a soft, damp cloth. Water and a small amount of gentle household soap (like dishwashing liquid) can be used on the exterior. Avoid heavy-duty cleaners or abrasive scouring pads that may scratch or discolor the steamer.
- After the steamer has been thoroughly dried, turn it back on and lightly steam over an old cloth. This helps remove any residue left in the steam holes.
- When finished cleaning, unplug the steamer, empty the water tank, and allow it to cool before storing.
Cleaning Water Tank with Vinegar and Water
It is recommended to clean the water tank every two months to reduce mineral buildup that can affect performance.
- Remove the water tank, open the rubber water tank cover, and fill the tank with drops of vinegar and water.
- Shake the water tank for several minutes until the mineral buildup has been removed.
- Rinse the water tank with tap water until the vinegar is eliminated.
Warning: Do not heat the steamer with vinegar in the water tank, as this will damage the steamer.
Storing the Steamer
- Store the steamer in a cool, dry place.
- Do not wrap the power cord around the unit; place it loosely.
Note: Water mineral levels vary by location. To ensure continuous operation, never store the steamer without cleaning and removing excess water from the tank. Tap water may cause mineral buildup in the internal heater, leading to intermittent or no steaming. Use de-mineralized or distilled water. If unable to do so, follow the cleaning procedure monthly to help avoid mineral buildup.
Anti Calc (Descaling)
Anti-calc operation can be performed if appliance performance decreases. Perform this operation in a vented room.
Steps:
- Remove the water tank.
- Fill the water tank with 0.1oz citric acid (or 50% water and 50% white vinegar).
- Return the water tank to its place on the appliance, ensuring it is fully set.
- Switch on the appliance.
- Wait at least 35 seconds before pressing the steam button.
- Allow the appliance to run until the water tank is completely emptied.
- Fill the water tank with 100% water and repeat the operation until the tank is completely empty to rinse the appliance.
