5. Installation
Locating the Cabinet
Ensure the following instructions are observed for proper and trouble-free operation:
- Do not install the cabinet outdoors.
- Locate the appliance in a dry and well-ventilated place.
- Position the unit on a level surface.
- Do not install near heating radiators or other heat sources.
- Do not install where exposed to direct sunlight.
- Do not install where exposed to warm draughts or open doors.
- Keep air intake and outlets free of obstructions.
- Allow adequate space for door openings.
Diagram illustrating proper ventilation with arrows indicating airflow around the cabinet.
Ventilation
- Allow 50mm clearance between walls and the appliance.
- Ensure the condenser fan can draw ambient air from the room.
- Adherence to minimum clearances is necessary.
NOTE: The maximum ambient temperature for the refrigerator is 25°C. Conditions outside this temperature range may result in cabinet temperatures outside the required 2°C to 8°C range. Bromic recommends installation at an ambient temperature of 20°C to 25°C.
Power Supply
- Do not plug the appliance into a multiple outlet power board.
- The appliance is supplied with a flexible power cord and a 3-pin plug.
- The socket used must be properly earthed and fuse/RCD protected.
- Refer to the rating label inside the cabinet for supply voltage, frequency, and current draw.
- The power cable is rated for 70°C. It is recommended that the cable does not contact parts exceeding 50°C.
- Do not turn off power before consulting the responsible person.
- Clearly mark the power source to prevent accidental unplugging or power off.
Diagram showing a correctly plugged-in appliance and a diagram showing an incorrectly plugged-in appliance with a red cross.
Before Operating
- If the appliance has been tilted or transported horizontally, allow it to stand upright for at least 4 hours before plugging it in.
- Remove all packaging material before using the appliance.
- Start the appliance only after it has been installed as described.
6. Shelf and Bumper Installation
Shelf Installation
Diagrams illustrating the process of installing shelves within the cabinet.
Bumper Installation
- Hook the top lip of the bumper against the top lip of the cabinet.
- Push the bottom of the bumper into the cabinet until it locks in place. A firm push may be required.
Diagrams showing the bumper installation steps.
7. Operation
Start-up
- Connect the appliance to the mains power supply and turn on the main switch (usually blue). Some models may not have a main switch; proceed to the next step if this is the case.
- The switches control cabinet cooling, glass heating, and lighting. Ensure all switches are flipped on for standard operation.
- Verify that the electronic controller, lighting, and fans are operating correctly.
- The compressor and condenser fan should start within 3 minutes after the Refrigeration switch is turned on.
- The electronic controller will display the current cabinet temperature after the Refrigeration switch is turned on.
- The LED indicates that the refrigeration circuit is operating.
- During the start-up delay (3 minutes), the LED will flash.
- The LED indicates that the refrigeration circuit is defrosting.
Image of the control panel with labels for cabinet lighting and power.
Setting the Temperature
- Press the SET button for more than 3 seconds.
- The set point value will be displayed, and the ‘°C' or '°F' LED will blink.
- Press the ▲ or ▼ arrow key within 10 seconds to adjust the set point.
- Press the SET key again or wait 10 seconds to confirm the setting.
8. Product Loading and Storage
- IMPORTANT: Run the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before loading.
- WARNING: Do not store explosive substances such as aerosol cans with a flammable propellant inside the appliance.
Start-up
- Clean the interior surface with a soft cloth and warm water before loading.
- Ensure free air circulation between products.
- Do not block the evaporator fan.
- Minimize refrigerator door openings.
- Some products are sensitive to ultraviolet (UV) light; refer to manufacturer guidelines before removing from packaging.
- Do not block the top or bottom grills when loading, as this can reduce cooling performance.
- Avoid overstocking the cabinet; products touching the walls and glass may not cool properly.
NOTE: Bromic is not responsible for loss of stock or damage to stock.
9. Maintenance
- WARNING: Disconnect the appliance from the power supply before performing any maintenance. Never unplug by pulling the cord; always grasp the plug firmly and pull straight out.
- WARNING: Exposure to significant water ingress will void the warranty and may cause safety issues. If the unit is exposed to water, contact the manufacturer immediately.
- IMPORTANT: Warranty may be void if there is no evidence of preventative maintenance.
Cleaning the Cabinet
- Remove products and transfer them to a suitable location before cleaning the interior.
- Do not use aggressive or abrasive cleaning agents.
- Never use a water hose or high-pressure jet for cleaning.
- Do not use sharp or pointed objects for cleaning.
- Clean the inside and outside of the appliance with a clean damp cloth or a neutral cleanser.
- Dry all surfaces with a dry cloth.
Condenser Coil/Filter
- IMPORTANT: The filter and condenser coil must be cleaned monthly. A poorly maintained condenser coil can lead to unit failure and higher cabinet temperatures.
Diagram showing front panel removal for condenser access and base panel removal for drain pipe access.
General Cleaning
- Wipe down the multideck display regularly.
- Preventing the build-up of oil and sediments will increase the unit's longevity.
Condenser Cleaning
- A clogged condenser can result in reduced cooling performance.
- The condenser must be cleaned every 6 weeks.
- Recommended cleaning methods include:
- Vacuum cleaner
- Cleaning brush
- Compressed air
Drain Hose Cleaning
- The drainage hose must be kept clean and clear.
- A clogged drainage hose can cause the unit to leak.
