Banner K50 Series Pick-to-Light Indicators
The K50 Series Pick-to-Light indicators from Banner Engineering are designed for robust, cost-effective, and easy-to-install error-proofing and part verification applications. These compact, self-contained units require no controller and feature a bright, highly visible green indicator. Some models also include an alternating red light for different operational states.
Features
- Rugged, economical, and easy-to-install solutions for error-proofing and part verification.
- Compact design allows for independent operation without a controller.
- Bright, highly visible green indicator; some models feature alternating red light.
- Available in push-button and passively actuated models.
- Fully encapsulated IP67 construction, suitable for IP69K and ISO 20653 rated environments depending on mounting.
- Unaffected by ambient light, EMI, and RFI.
- AS-i compatible.
- Operates on 12V DC to 30V DC.
WARNING: This device is not intended for personnel protection. Misuse or failure of this device could result in a powered (ON) or unpowered (OFF) output state, potentially causing serious injury or death.
Standard Models - Single Color
These models feature a steady indicator light when the input is active and activate the output when a hand is present or a button is pressed.

Connection Options:
- For 2-meter (6.5 ft) PVC cable models, omit the "Q" suffix (e.g., K50APLPGXD).
- For 9-meter (30 ft) PVC cable models, add "W/30" suffix (e.g., K50APLPGXD W/30).
- For models with 150 mm (6 in) PVC pigtail and M12 quick-disconnect, replace "Q" with "QP" (e.g., K50APLPGXDQP).
- Models with quick-disconnects require mating cables.
Output Types: N.O. = Normally Open; N.C. = Normally Closed.
Series C - Dual-Color Models (12V DC to 30V DC)
These models feature a green indicator during normal operation. When a hand is detected or a button is pressed, the output activates, and the indicator turns red, overriding the normal operation light. For reflective models, a red signal indicates misalignment for easier setup.

Series E - Dual-Color Models
These models provide a steady green indicator when the input is active. A hand detection or button press activates the output. If the input is not active, but a hand is detected or a button is pressed, the device will illuminate red to confirm sensor operation.

Installation
For push-button models, position the sensor for easy access by the operator. For other models, mount the sensor so that an operator's hand will break the beam when reaching for a part. Ensure consistent mounting positions for multiple sensors to prevent optical crosstalk.
Wiring Diagrams
The following diagrams illustrate the wiring for 4-pin M12 quick-disconnect connectors. Pin assignments are consistent for wired models.
NPN Models:
- Pin 1 (bn): +12-30V DC
- Pin 2 (wh): Job Light Enable (< 1.0 V DC)
- Pin 3 (bu): Load
- Pin 4 (bk): Enable
PNP Models:
- Pin 1 (bn): +12-30V DC
- Pin 2 (wh): Job Light Enable (> 7.0 V DC)
- Pin 3 (bu): Load
- Pin 4 (bk): Enable
Note: Diagrams shown are for wired models; pin functions are identical for quick-disconnect models.
