Scan the QR code to download and install the HUAWEI smart device management app on your mobile phone or tablet. You can use the app to manage your router.

Step 1: Connecting the Cables

Erect all antennas upright to ensure optimized Wi-Fi signal. If the indicator stays red, this indicates that the router is not connected to the Internet. Please refer to "Step 2: Configuring the network settings".

Diagram Description: A diagram shows the rear panel of the HUAWEI WiFi WS5200 router with ports labeled POWER WAN, LAN1, LAN2, LAN3, and RESET. An optical/broadband/cable modem from a broadband provider is connected to the WAN port of the router via a cable. The modem is connected to the internet.

Step 2: Configuring the Network Settings

  1. Connect your mobile phone or computer to the router's Wi-Fi network (no password required). Check for the Wi-Fi name on the bottom of the new router.
  2. Open your browser. You will be automatically redirected to the configuration page. If the page does not display automatically, enter 192.168.3.1 in the browser's address bar.
  3. If your Internet connection does not require an account and password, skip to the next step.
  4. If you remember your broadband account and password, enter your broadband account and password.
  5. Set a new Wi-Fi name, Wi-Fi password, and admin password for the new router. You can use the Wi-Fi password as the router admin password.

Diagram Description: A series of screenshots illustrate the network configuration process. The first shows connecting to a Wi-Fi network named 'XXXXXX'. The second shows the IP address '192.168.3.1'. Subsequent screenshots depict entering broadband account and password, and setting Wi-Fi network name and password. The final screenshot shows 'Configuration complete'.

Indicator Status

Indicator Status Meaning
Steady green Connected to the network
Steady red Not connected to the network. Check for loose cables or connection errors. Contact your broadband carrier if the broadband network has an error.
Flashing The router has detected a pairable device. When other HUAWEI routers (with H or Hi button) are detected, the indicator will flash. Press the router's H button. The indicator should flash quickly, indicating the pairable device is connecting to the router's Wi-Fi. The connection is complete when the indicator stops flashing. If the H button was touched accidentally, wait 2 minutes for the indicator to return to normal. The H button also features WPS functionality.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q1: What can I do if I encounter issues during router configuration?

Device did not detect router's Wi-Fi: Ensure the router is powered on and has completed its startup process. Try searching again.

Cannot visit router's configuration page: Ensure your device is connected to the router's Wi-Fi network and enter 192.168.3.1 in the browser.

Page displays "Cable disconnected": Ensure the router's WAN port is connected to the modem's LAN port, the modem has internet access, all connections are secure, and network cables are in good condition.

Page displays "Account or password error": Re-enter your broadband account and password. If the issue persists, your broadband carrier might have MAC address binding. Select 'Retrieve' and follow prompts, or contact your carrier.

Page displays "Failed to retrieve network settings from old router": Ensure the router is powered on, the old router's WAN port is connected to the new router's LAN port. Restart the old router and try again. If the issue persists, restore the router to factory settings and reconfigure.

Q2: What if I forget my app or router login password?

Try using the router's Wi-Fi password to log in. If the issue persists, restore the router to its factory settings.

Q3: How do I restore the router to its factory settings?

Connect the router to power. Wait for it to start up. Use a pin to press and hold the RESET button for more than two seconds until the indicator light goes out. Wait for the router to restart. When the indicator turns red, it has been restored to factory settings. You will need to configure it again.

Q4: Does the router support 5 GHz Wi-Fi? How do I connect to it?

Yes, 5 GHz Wi-Fi is supported. By default, the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi names are the same, and you will automatically connect to the faster network. To use 5 GHz Wi-Fi exclusively, disable the "Prioritize 5 GHz" feature in the router's management interface (accessible via 192.168.3.1). After disabling, you will see two Wi-Fi network names; connect to the one with " 5G " at the end.

Q5: How do I pair a Wi-Fi device using WPS?

With the router powered on, press its H button. Then, within two minutes, press the WPS button on the Wi-Fi device (e.g., phone) to initiate WPS negotiation and connect the device to the router's Wi-Fi network.
