MANDAL Headboard Assembly Instructions

General Information and Safety

This document provides assembly instructions for the IKEA MANDAL headboard.

Important Note on Wall Mounting: As wall materials vary, screws for fixing to the wall are not included. For advice on suitable screw systems, contact your local specialised dealer.

Assembly Precautions:

Do not sit on the parts during assembly.
Protect your floor by assembling on a soft surface like a rug or the packaging material.
If you encounter difficulties, contact IKEA for assistance.

Parts List

The following parts are included:

12x Screws (Part No. 100224)
2x Washers (Part No. 114418)
2x Brackets (Part No. 100825)
1x Allen Key (Part No. 121180)
6x Screws (Part No. 121179)
2x Brackets (Part No. 100006)

Assembly Steps

Step 1: Attach Brackets

Take the slatted panel. Attach two brackets (Part No. 100825) to the ends of the panel using screws (Part No. 100224) and washers (Part No. 114418).

Step 2: Attach More Brackets

Attach two brackets (Part No. 100006) to the slatted panel using screws (Part No. 100224).

Step 3: Attach Final Bracket

Attach another bracket (Part No. 100825) to the slatted panel using screws (Part No. 100224) and washers (Part No. 114418).

Step 4: Insert Shelves

Fold the assembled slatted panel. Insert six shelves into the pre-drilled slots along the panel.

Step 5: Prepare for Wall Mounting

Measure and mark the desired position on the wall for the headboard. The total width of the assembled headboard is 196 cm (77 3/16").

Step 6: Mount Brackets to Wall

Attach the corresponding mounting hardware to the wall. Remember: Screws and wall plugs are not included. Select them based on your wall material. Consult a specialist if you are unsure about the correct type of fixings.

Step 7: Hang the Headboard

With assistance from another person, carefully lift the assembled headboard and hook it onto the wall-mounted brackets.
