IDEAL SureTrace Circuit Tracers

Introduction

The IDEAL® 61-946EU SureTrace™, 61-948EU SureTrace™ Plus, and 61-950EU SureTrace™ Pro Circuit Tracers are essential tools designed to efficiently locate open circuits, shorts, splicing errors, and conductor positions behind walls and underground. These devices also aid in identifying fuses and breakers, operating seamlessly on 3-phase systems. The transmitter emits a distinct signal onto an electrical conductor, which is then detected by the receiver, allowing for tracing based on signal presence and strength. The 61-950EU model includes an inductive sensing clamp (ISC-950) that can induce a signal onto conductors and measure AC amperage.

WARNING: Arc Flash and Shock Hazard. Proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory. Always follow all safety procedures and adhere to NFPA 70E guidelines. Failure to comply can result in serious injury or death. This equipment is intended for use by experienced or technically competent individuals. Always work on de-energized circuits that have had their circuit breakers turned off and locked out. Inspect the tracer and test leads for any damage before use. Use only approved test leads meeting IEC/EN 61010-031 standards with a CAT III 600V or better rating. Never operate the tracer with the back cover removed or the case open. The devices are rated for 0-480V AC/DC for the TR-946 and 0-600V AC/DC for the TR-948 and TR-950, and are compatible with GFCI protected circuits. They are not designed for non-sinusoidal or distorted waveforms.
