Data Protection

During device use, personal data will be collected, stored, and processed. Hikvision devices incorporate privacy-by-design principles. For example, devices with facial recognition store biometrics data with encryption, and fingerprint devices save only fingerprint templates, making reconstruction impossible.

As a data controller, users are advised to collect, store, process, and transfer data in accordance with applicable data protection laws and regulations. This includes implementing security controls to safeguard personal data, such as reasonable administrative and physical security controls, and conducting periodic reviews of security control effectiveness.

Safety Instruction

Dangers

  • The socket-outlet shall be installed near the equipment and be easily accessible.
  • An all-pole mains switch shall be incorporated in the electrical installation of the building.
  • Do not connect several devices to one power adapter, as adapter overload may cause overheating or fire hazard.
  • If smoke, odors, or noise rise from the device, turn off the power immediately, unplug the power cable, and contact the service center.
  • Shock hazard! Disconnect all power sources before maintenance.
  • If the product does not work properly, contact your dealer or the nearest service center. Never attempt to disassemble the device yourself. (Hikvision assumes no responsibility for problems caused by unauthorized repair or maintenance.)

Cautions

  • The equipment is designed for connection to an IT power distribution system when required.
  • This equipment is suitable for mounting on concrete or other non-combustible surfaces only.
  • The serial port is used for debugging only.
  • Install the equipment according to the instructions in this manual.
  • To prevent injury, this equipment must be securely attached to the floor/wall in accordance with the installation instructions.
  • No naked flame sources, such as lighted candles, should be placed on the equipment.
  • Do not place the device in extremely hot, cold, dusty, or damp locations, or expose it to high electromagnetic radiation. Refer to the device specifications for detailed operating temperature.
  • The device cover for indoor use shall be kept from rain and moisture.
  • Exposing the equipment to direct sunlight, low ventilation, or heat sources like heaters or radiators is forbidden, as it can cause fire danger.
  • Use a soft and dry cloth for cleaning the inside and outside surfaces of the device cover. Do not use alkaline detergents.
  • Keep all wrappers after unpacking for future use. In case of any failure, the device may need to be returned to the factory with the original wrapper. Transportation without the original wrapper may result in damage and additional costs.

Chapter 1 Overview

1.1 Product Introduction

The secure door control unit acts as a middle layer between the access control terminal and the door lock within an access control system. The top side connects to the access control terminal, while the bottom side connects to devices such as door contacts, door magnets, exit buttons, and Wiegand card readers. When equipped with access control equipment, it enhances door control security.

1.2 Appearance Introduction

Chapter 3 Wiring Description

Chapter 4 Installation

Before installing the secure door control unit, set the DIP switches and connect the cables.

4.1 DIP Switch Description

Notes:

  • DIP switch numbers 1 to 3 are used for setting the RS-485 communication address.
  • DIP switch number 4 is for Wiegand mode: OFF for Wiegand input, ON for Wiegand output.
  • DIP addresses cannot be repeated.

4.2 Install Secure Door Control Unit

Steps:

  1. Set the DIP switches of the secure door control unit according to the access control device requirements. Note: The DIP binary ranges from 0001 to 1111.
  2. Drill holes on the wall or other suitable places according to the mounting template. Note: The minimum bearing weight of the wall or mounting surface should be at least three times the device weight.
  3. Insert the provided plastic sleeve of the A4 expansion screw into the punched hole.
  4. Insert the cable into the cable socket and the Wiegand cable into the Wiegand interface. Caution: If cables need to be connected from the side of the device, knock out the appropriate knockout hole.
  5. Align the screw holes on both sides of the device with the sleeves in the wall and secure the device using the provided screws.
