2. Product Overview

The Mi Action Camera Handheld Gimbal features a multi-axis stabilization system. The diagram shows the front and back views with numbered components:

Front View Components:

3. Mounting and Dismounting

Mounting Mi Action Camera 4K:

1. Ensure the Handheld Gimbal is turned off.
2. Insert the Mi Action Camera 4K into the camera holder.
3. Turn the camera fastener clockwise until it is secure.

Dismounting Mi Action Camera 4K:

1. Ensure the Handheld Gimbal is turned off.
2. Turn the camera fastener counterclockwise until it is loose.
3. Remove the Mi Action Camera 4K.

Note: Do not remove the Mi Action Camera 4K until it is powered off.

4. Charging

Charge your Handheld Gimbal using the provided USB cable or other compatible data cables. A power adapter is not included.

Notes:

• It is recommended to turn off the Handheld Gimbal before recharging.
• For the first use, fully charge the battery with a 5V/2A power adapter. Charging time is approximately 4 hours.

5. Operating Instructions

Ensure your Mi Action Camera 4K is properly connected to the Handheld Gimbal.

a. Turning On/Off

• Turning On: Press and hold the power button. The indicator will turn on.
• Turning Off: Press and hold the power button. The indicator will turn off.

b. Button Function

• Four-way Joystick: Used to adjust camera angles.
• Photo Button: Press to take photos in the current mode.
• Video/Power Button:
  • Press and hold to turn the Mi Action Camera Handheld Gimbal on or off.
  • Press to start shooting video in the current mode.
  • Press again to stop shooting video.

Note: When in the Gallery or Settings page, pressing the Photo or Video/Power button will return you to the Preview page.

Toggle Switch:

• Set the toggle to "+" to increase the exposure value.
• Set the toggle to "-" to decrease the exposure value.

Mode Button:

• Double press to control the camera to change position.
• Press and hold to lock pan and pitch axes.

Note: To avoid accidental taps during movement, press and hold both the Photo and Mode buttons for 3 seconds to enter lock mode. Press and hold both buttons again for 3 seconds to unlock.

c. Operating Modes

• Vertical Mode: Activates automatically when the handle is placed vertically at an angle of more than 30° to the ground.
  • Mode Button:
    • Double press: Restore neutral position.
    • Triple press: Control lens to face the handle.
    • Press and hold: Lock pan and roll axes.
  • Four-way Joystick: Control pan and pitch axes to follow.
• Horizontal Mode: Activates automatically when the handle leans left or right at an angle of less than 30° to the ground.
  • Mode Button:
    • Double press: Restore neutral position.
    • Triple press: Rotate lens counterclockwise by 90°.
    • Press and hold: Lock roll and pitch axes.
  • Four-way Joystick: Control pitch axis to follow.
• Upside-down Mode: Activates automatically when the handle is placed upside down.
  • Mode Button:
    • Double press: Restore neutral position.
    • Triple press: Control lens to face the handle.
    • Press and hold: Lock pan and roll axes.
  • Four-way Joystick: Control pan and pitch axis to follow.
• Flashlight Mode: Activates automatically when the vertical handle leans front or back at an angle of less than 30° to the ground.
  • Mode Button:
    • Double press: Restore neutral position.
    • Triple press: Rotate lens counterclockwise by 90°.
    • Press and hold: Lock roll and pitch axes.
  • Four-way Joystick: Control pitch axis to follow.

6. Quick Setup

Control your device and interact with other smart home devices using the Mi Home App.

a. Install Mi Home App

Scan the QR code or go to your app store to download and install the Mi Home app.

b. Add and Connect Mi Action Camera 4K

Follow the app instructions to add and connect your Mi Action Camera 4K.

8. Precaution

1. Do not use the Action Camera Handheld Gimbal when the temperature is below 0°C, as battery capacity decreases significantly in low-temperature conditions.
2. The Action Camera Handheld Gimbal features overcurrent protection. The motor stops working when the device enters overcurrent protection mode and resumes operation after a double press of the mode button.
