Regular Maintenance Procedures

Regular preventive maintenance is essential for keeping the equipment in proper working order. Keeping a log of all maintenance activities will help ensure timely preventive maintenance.

CAUTION: Equipment with worn or damaged components must be taken out of service until repaired. Failure to do so may result in injury.

Daily Procedures:

  1. Clean upholstery.

Weekly Procedures:

  1. Check tightness of all nuts and bolts. Tighten as needed.
  2. Inspect grips and warning labels for wear. Replace any worn parts immediately.

Exercise

Intended Use

This equipment is intended for general physical conditioning and exercise. It is designed for commercial use.

Before You Begin:

Terminology:

Workout Process:

The number of repetitions per set depends on your goals. For muscle mass and strength, perform fewer repetitions (6-8) with heavier weights. For endurance, perform more repetitions (12-15) with lighter weights. Never "cheat" by shortening the range of motion, using momentum, or changing body position. While these techniques may allow you to lift heavier weights, they are dangerous and less effective.

Rest for 45-90 seconds between sets of the same exercise. When performing circuit training, move quickly to the next exercise with minimal rest to maintain heart rate and breathing. Perform up to three sets per exercise. When you can comfortably complete the desired number of reps and sets, increase the working weight by one plate or half a plate.

Workout Planning:

Circuit training is optimal for beginners. Perform one set of each exercise, moving to the next with minimal rest to maintain heart rate and breathing, until a balanced cycle of 8-10 exercises covering all muscle groups is completed. Then, repeat the cycle. After a few weeks, you can move to performing multiple sets (3) per exercise.

Both methods involve working the entire body every other day, up to three times a week. Note: Full rest days, proper nutrition, and hydration are essential for optimal muscle growth or toning. Alternatively, you can work half the body one day (e.g., upper body) and the other half the next day (e.g., lower body).

Finish your workout with a cool-down, similar to the warm-up.

The Return Material Authorization (RMA) system provides a procedure for returning materials for placement, repair, or credit. This system ensures proper service and diagnosis of returned materials. Please follow the procedure outlined below carefully.

For warranty issues, contact your authorized Cybex dealer. Your local dealer will request an RMA from Cybex if necessary. Cybex will not accept defective parts or equipment without a properly marked label according to the RMA and ARS (Automated Return Service) systems.

  1. To return a defective part, call the Customer Support hotline at the number provided above.
  2. Describe the problem or defect in detail to the specialist.
  3. Provide the model and serial number of your Cybex equipment.
  4. At Cybex's discretion, our specialist may ask you to return the problem parts for diagnosis, repair, or replacement. Our specialist will assign an RMA number to your order and send you an ARS label. The ARS label and RMA number must be affixed to the outside of the package containing the returned items. Include a description of the problem, the equipment serial number, and the owner's name and address with the returned parts.

Assembly

Required Tools:

All Cybex Strength Systems equipment comes with plastic caps on the legs, designed to protect the bottom of the equipment during shipping. These caps must be removed from the legs before operating the equipment to ensure stability.

CAUTION: If the shipping caps are not removed from the legs before operating the equipment, the equipment will be unstable, posing a risk of injury to users or damage to the equipment.

NOTE: Failure to remove the shipping caps from the legs before operating the equipment may void the manufacturer's warranty on the frame.

REMOVING CAPS FROM LEGS:

NOTE: Exercise extreme caution to avoid damaging the frame (e.g., chipping paint) when removing the caps.

NOTE: To remove a cap from a leg, you will need to slightly lift the corresponding leg. Do not install the weight stack (if applicable) until the caps have been removed from all legs.

  1. Gently tap the cap on the leg with a rubber mallet.
  2. Using a flat head screwdriver, carefully pry the cap loose.
  3. Carefully place the rubber pads (included with the equipment) under each leg of the main frame.
  4. Carefully install the overlays (Part No. 16030-309) if necessary. Refer to the exploded view drawing.
