Safety Certified to Handle Emergencies
TOA Canada Corporation is recognized as the first Commercial Audio Manufacturer globally to have products certified to meet Mass Notification Codes.
- UL2572 and CAN/ULC-S576-14: Standards for Mass Notification System Equipment and Accessories. These codes cover communication units, interfaces, and accessories for mass notification systems, intended for critical emergency communication and mass notification in buildings or outdoor areas for events like fire, weather emergencies, amber alerts, and terrorist activities.
- EN 54: A European Union (EU) standard for fire alarm systems. TOA's VM-3000 and SX-2000 higher-end models meet this standard, ensuring high product quality and reliability for Voice Alarm (VA) and Public Address (PA) integration. EN 54 is crucial as EU member states adopt it for voice evacuation equipment.
- UL 1480 UUMW/UWAY and CAN/ULC-S541S-07: Standards for speakers used in fire alarm, emergency, and commercial/professional applications. These cover speakers for indoor/outdoor use in dry, damp, or wet locations.
TOA is a world leader in Mass Notification and Voice Evacuation with over 50 years of experience.

Application Examples
VM-3000 Application for an Office Building
Paging and BGM: Announcements from remote microphones (e.g., RM-200M) include pre-announcement chimes and area selection. BGM sources (like CD players) are automatically muted during announcements.
Voice Alarm: Emergency pre-recorded messages are activated by fire alarms, and announcements from a Fireman's microphone (e.g., RM-300MF) are transmitted to specified areas. Normal broadcasting programs are muted. The system operates on battery backup during power failures.
Surveillance: Built-in surveillance functions detect failures in amplifiers and speaker lines.

Strengthening System Capabilities
Integration of SX-2000 with N-8000 IP Intercom
A large system with up to 2048 zones can be realized on an IP Network. IP Stations (e.g., N-8610RM, N-8600MS) can make paging calls to any selected zone(s) from remote locations.
